Frame weight

Does anyone have a completely stripped 1 1/2 frame and a 2 frame that they could weigh for some research that Austin and I are doing?

Eric Eis 01-03-2011 09:07 PM

Dave I may have both, I'll have to look for them, I know I use to have them but I sold five stripped frames and they may have been in that lot. I'll check tomorrow. Eric

Did Francis Morin sell the two he had?

Dave,
Here is a 1.5 frame GHE in the 222,000 range that was stripped for re-case. It weighs 20.7 ounces.

Perfect! Thanks Pat...:)

Patrick; Can you weigh the floorplate, cocking slide, lever mechanism and bolt? That will allow direct comparison with exposed hammer frames.

Thanks, Austin

Austin,
Those 4 pieces add 5.5 ounces.

Patrick

Pat, Thank you very much for taking the time to do this. We are half way there. Now all we need is a 2 frame set of weights.

Mike Stahle 01-04-2011 07:31 PM

So what is the weight difference between the
#1 frame and the mysterious 1/2 frame?

Austin W Hogan 01-04-2011 07:34 PM

Frame Weight

Thank you, Patrick; that gives us 2 lifter, T/A, and hammerless

Best, Austin

Eric Eis 01-04-2011 08:13 PM

Just checked both of my hammerless frames are 1 1/2, sorry no two frames. Eric

Dave Suponski 01-04-2011 08:37 PM
