Parker serialization book

Is the Parker serialization book worth buying? I have all the other books on Parker Shotguns and does this book offer any more insight that the others don't?

If you are seriously into Parkers, without question. It lets you confirm originality of gun characteristics. But note that not all guns are in the listing, because it originated from the order books, and there are a few that are missing. I have two of the serialization books, so I don't have to chase it between floors!:)

The Serialization book at around $40 is most definitely worth having and it will become your go-to reference book on individual Parkers. Keep in mind though, there are some errors in it due mostly to typos on the part of those who transcribed the several millions of keystrokes in doing this huge project.

The Serialization Book is based primarily on the stock books with the exception of grades D and higher which were missing in the stock books but were found in the order books after the order books were examined. Those D grades and above were then added to the Serialization Book

Lot's of information in the SB beyond serial numbers. You'll learn way more from the SB than you will from a $40 Parker.

I think you will enjoy it and I think it really is a must have even if a particular gun you looking up isn't listed from time to time. I have 2 copies...that way I can always get to it.

Chuck, seems you are confused by my comment that says in so many words that the Serialization Book is well worth the price for its informative content.

Thanks for the replies! Found one on ebay for $35.00 and it should be here next week. Hope both of my Parkers are listed.

Have you ordered PGCA Research letters on them?

A letter came with one of the Parkers that I purchased and hopefully my other gun is listed in the book as well. I always get a factory letter thats available on any of the guns I own and was happy to get one on my mint model 21-20 ga. skeet and my almost new L.C. Smith 410.

Got my Parker serialization book yesterday and was happy to see that my guns serial numbers were in there. I was disappointed though that the two back pages of the book were blank and that the article by Mr. Art Wheaton(Parker Fever is the price of ownership) was not in there. This book appears to be a late fourth printing. Did they eliminate his article in the later editions?
