Opening up chokes-reco needed

Can you recommend a couple of shops that could open up chokes on a 16vh. I love the gun, but even with spreaders it is choked a little too tight. For grouse and woodcock.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I've been very happy with Brad Batchelder's shop in Grand Rapids. Where are you located?

Dean Romig 10-09-2020 02:11 PM

Mike Orlen in Amherst, Ma is fast and accurate. Many, many people are very happy with his work. I have driven to his house and dropped off a gun to have chokes opened. I went and found a place to have lunch and he called me an hour later to tell me it was done. He treats everybody the same way - like family.

Where do you live Mike?

I have used both Batchelder and Orlen, both do great work. But for turn around, I would recommend Orlen.

I had Turnbull open up one barrel of a VH for me. The results were excellent. The barrels came back wrapped in the pattern sheet with data. Nice touch. The work was done ahead of the estimated date of completion.
