BACK UP AND RUNNING!!

GOOD NEWS!! As of Saturday morning, May 2, we will be open again!! There will be restrictions in place as to distancing at the desk, number of shooters in the lodge to sign in and to pay, no coffee and hanging out in the lodge. All these are temporary, but we’re throwing targets again!!!

Dean Romig 04-27-2020 06:56 PM

I sincerely wish we lived closer!

You have a camper, we have electric hook-ups and can fill your water.

Randy G Roberts 04-27-2020 08:58 PM

Good for you. I would be there ASAP but our distance is more than social, it's a long drive. Be safe....

Mills Morrison 04-28-2020 07:21 AM

That is great news!

Our club in Mich is reopening, but are interpreting the Guv's directive that the club open only members are allowed. Really!? Watch out. She's being mentioned as Biden's VP choice.

Mills Morrison 04-28-2020 09:31 AM

Our club here is members only now. At least it is open as that is the main source of entertainment now

Jeff Kuss 04-28-2020 09:52 AM

My course is opening on Sat. It is by appointment only. I'm not sure how that is going to work. Trap, skeet and sporting clays will be open.

Frank Srebro 04-28-2020 09:57 AM

So happy for Mike, Susan and Tad and the other clay sports clubs here in PA. If memory serves they were mandated to close down on March 19; that's six weeks and especially tough for privately owned clubs like the Rock that totally depend on shooter turnout for income.

A comment from Lou who's on our shooting gang after hearing the news yesterday; verbatim: I don't want to shoot, I need to shoot.

Jeff Kuss 04-28-2020 10:12 AM

Fortunately I have a Mec wooble trap and a hundred acre field to shoot in. It has kept me shooting and sane!

I have been shooting a little myself. Atlas has one more trap that I have threatened to buy for the last few years. Now might just be the time.

I may pay you a visit next week! I bet you will be swamped on Saturday!

Tom Pellegrini 04-28-2020 05:19 PM

Backwoods Quail Club has been open along. I was there this morning for my weekly therapy session. A round on each course.

So Mike are you open or not. Judging by the governors most recent directive it looks like not. I don't see Wyoming and Susquehanna counties on the yellow phase list. Bummer.

Gary, the Rock is definitely open and operating per Wolfe's CV PPE guidelines similar to those for golf courses (masks, one rider per cart seat, distancing, limited social interactions, one person in the lodge at a time, etc.) My gang was there last Sunday and we'll be at the Rock again tomorrow pending the weather. The parking lot was FULL and with some vehicle overflow out on the lawns. Great targets as usual but it's strange to "cheek" the gun with a mask on = good excuse. All of us are happy for Mike, Susan and Tad. :)

My son and I paid them a visit this past Thursday, shot the short coarse, and had a ball. Only folks on this coarse. Mike says it is the easy one, hmmm, couldn't tell by my shooting! Good to get back to it.
