I have the dates marked off for this shoot, I plan to leave Ohio with my little camper on Wednesday the 3rd and stay thru Sunday the 7th and pull out Monday. Camper will be prepped and loaded with all the gear needs. Its a great time in the back 40 seeing my old friends and always meeting new ones. The evening get togethers rival the day time events for sure! Lots of good food and drink, story telling, horse trading, show and tell sessions and just a easy going good time. I hope the boys bring the annual ribs and beer this year, that dinner last year was so good!!!, we all had a great time and got full bellies...(-: I have spoke with Brett, and Harold and they both hope to be there too so its all looking good thus far. I am looking for walleye donations from a few friends and if that works out I can offer appetizers. Fish breaded in shore lunch and pan fried on cast iron or I may bring my fryer?....So anyone who has some fish to donate please let me know and please bring it.
My loading press is going regular so I have my light 16ga target ammo ready to feed the new to me DH-16, DHE-16, and a wonderful little Philly CE-16....(-:
1st three pictures from last years camping, my cased DH-16, my DHE-16 English grip, and my Philly Fox CE-16 all will be there for a little work out. I hope to see all of you there. SXS Ohio

We haven't made a decision yet about camping... or even if we'll be able to go to Ernie's. But we sure do want to. Hope to see everyone there.

Our group camps out at the Rosemont Inn in Montrose :rotf: . But we set up in the first row of the parking lot and welcome visitors, plenty of goodies, beer for all to enjoy and encourage show and tell guns. Just stop by and say hello, duck hunters get special treatment!!! Craig Larter

You mean the "tow vehicle"

Tom Pellegrini 03-06-2020 08:43 AM

Sorry to say that I won't be able to make it this year. I am going in May 11th for a knee replacement. I really enjoyed last June there. My first time in that area since 1971.
Thank you Kenny for honoring me with the second picture. Great time shooting, finally putting faces with the names from the forum, and solving the shooting world problems. Thanks to all who I met that weekend definitely enjoyable.

Eric, sure hope the tow vehicle wont be needed again this year. The first vehicle I had to pull out last year was my own F150. It got stuck on the way to the campsite. Glad you and Rich will be back this year.

We'll miss you Tom but we will carry on without you. Hope to see you at the Southern.

Kenny, I may be bias but your gun case looks stunning!! the gun looks super good in the case too!!:rotf:

Harold Lee Pickens 03-07-2020 09:35 AM

Sara, did Pete get you set up to reload 16 ga? If so I would be happy to bring you 100+, once fired cheddite hulls, either trimmed to 2 1/2" or full length 2 3/4". (RST hulls are Cheddite hulls).

Kenny Graft 03-07-2020 01:32 PM

That case was made to order, fitted to the gun enclosed. Great job at a very fair price! I like vintage cases for vintage guns...(-: This case was supplied and reworked by our very own Matthew Hanson

Sara LeFever 03-07-2020 04:48 PM

Kenny - no, no new guns for this year. Quite happy with my 16ga Lefever currently :)

Harold - Yes, Pete got me set up reloading 16ga last Fall. Thank you for the offer of the hulls, but I think I'm all set for awhile. I still have a huge bag full of empties from last year! :rotf:

Sara

Harold Lee Pickens 03-07-2020 05:35 PM

Sara, I think you should shoot a round with .my DS 20 Lefever. I ll supply the 3/4 oz loads.
It hasn't been shot in a few years

Harold,
Sounds good, I might take you up on that! But, only if you dust it, like Dean said. :rotf:
