I Got My New Parker Pages Today!

Today Mister Postman put my new Parker Pages in my mailbox as I watched from the window. I was in such a hurry to run out and get it I almost ran out of the house with no shoes on.

I've read most of it now and see some brand new authors and some great articles and good pictures illustrating them.
I don't hesitate for a second to say our editors, Mike and Susan, have done a superb piece of work on this, their inaugural issue.

Most of you don't have any idea what they have gone through in dealing with the USPS in getting US Form 3526-R and 3510 filled out and recorded with the proper postal authorities.... (the USPS didn't even know.... but that's another story.) Suffice to say that Mike and Susan have really shown us what they're made of in taking the challenge and seeing it through to fruition. What a great job they've done and what a great issue of Parker Pages we have!!

:clap::cheers::bowdown:

Thanks a bunch Dean. We are truly happy and humbled that “The Godfather” gave his heartfelt approval!! To quote Wayne’s World, “We’re not worthy...”:rotf::rotf:

BTW, in case the readers missed it, beginning with the next issue (Summer 2020) Parker Pages will be printed with all full color pictures!! Woot-Woot!!

The fact that you were able to accomplish something I wasn’t able to accomplish in all my years at the helm (that of a 48 page full-color magazine) isn’t simply a feather in your caps but is more aptly a fantastic plume in your caps.

And BTW, you definitely ARE WORTHY!!

Great work Mike and Sam! And Sam, keep a tight rein on Mike. Please don't let him put paronomasia in the Parker Pages.

Alright so I got a new guy to complain to when mine gets to Central Virginia a month or so after every one else in the entire free world already has theirs :rotf:

Michael Moffa 02-21-2020 09:01 PM

Maybe that's why they are late getting to Virginia. It is not the free world anymore under Mein Fuhrer Northam. They have to intercept them and add your name to the Gestapo's list.

Great edition. Millis I am going to start calling you a Parker EMT! Your passion for putting Parkers back in shooting condition is shared by many. I really enjoyed Parkers in Pulp by John Davis. 1883 was such an interesting year with the introduction of the top lever gun. Reading the news reports of the day helps me understand the era better. The article by Dean was fascinating about the editor's gun. The D hammer gun article was well done, I now am the caretaker of 70578 the gun in Steve Cambria's DGJ article. It would be fun to photograph the guns together some day. Now I need to finish ready the rest of the articles!!!

Got mine yesterday, February 22. Haven't dug in yet, too busy at a box quail shoot and picking up a DHE pigeon gun from the wood refinisher. I'll sit down and read my PP today after cleaning 20 quail and shooting some five stand. This retirement business is rough on a 74 year old body.

Great job Mr. and Mrs. K.!!! Obviously the "cleanse" worked wonders!!
Unfortunately, Susan tells us that Mikey was wearing his blue blazer and PGCA tie before he plunged feet-first into the pit. Regrettably, thee pairing slated for the PGCA banquet. I guess all bets are off as to what degree of sartorial splendor will be on display in Sanford!:crying::eek:

Mike Koneski 02-23-2020 11:59 AM

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Susan must have forgotten to take her meds. I don't own a blue blazer or Parker tie!! Vegas odds are 5:2 that someone wears a black leather sport coat, Brae Val shirt, bolo tie and cargo shorts. Vegas also has a line of 8:3 on whether same guy wears moccasins or crocs.

Finally found time to read my copy last evening. Been busy chasing crows and shooting sporting clays this weekend. Thank you Mike and Susan !! You did a fabulous job. Susan makes me nervous now that I know she is a "grammar Nazi", her words, not mine. I'm gonna have to be on my toes at the meeting now and watch the speech. So much pressure.....
