I hunted with my #3 frame 12ga DHE 30" the last two days with my friend Mark Kircher. A few birds around in our area.

Mills Morrison 01-01-2020 04:27 PM

That’s a nice photograph to memorialize a good day in the marsh, I’m hoping to do the same over the next couple of weeks with the goal of harvesting a nice drake Black Duck.

Craig, what a great photo. Makes me want to add a 3 frame 12 to my wish list.

That’s a really nice photo Craig. I especially like the layout on the natural snow on grass setting. A great Home Page photo IMO.

Overall it has been a very challenging season - They changed our hunting dates dramatically - we lost about half of our Marsh days (when water is not frozen)
Craig and I managed a few late season marsh hunts with the recent thaw, but it was after a long sustained freeze - Not many birds returned.
The good news is we both made a few good shots. Craig making a long right to left on a drake that I will remember forever.
Not our most productive year but I am still sad that it will be over in just a couple days.
Here is a pic after a pair of drakes came in to our decoys.

Lights on/lights off :)

Dean how does one submit a picture for consideration as a picture of the month?

Mills Morrison 01-03-2020 06:22 PM

John D just picks one, I think.

I don’t know Craig, I’ve never done it but Mills is right - John Dunkle does it.

Sad it is the last day of our duck season. Mark and I finished with two nice shots from our 3 frame 12ga Parkers. We decided the 3 frame Parker (or a Super Fox) with TM #3 1 1/4oz are the perfect duck guns when the game is late season blind wise blacks and mallards.

Garry L Gordon 01-06-2020 09:37 AM

It's always sad when a season dies, but it sure sounds like you both had some memorable moments to get you through until next year.

charlie cleveland 01-06-2020 09:40 PM

the 3 frames are awesome in my book...what a way to close the season...charlie

Mills Morrison 01-07-2020 11:28 AM

3 frame 12's are great. I have two and love them

Craig Larter 01-07-2020 06:08 PM

Mills don't own a Super Fox also?

Mills Morrison 01-07-2020 06:19 PM

I do own a Super Fox and it is a great gun too.

Very nice picture. Makes me wish that I was out there with the sting of a cold breeze hitting my face. :)

Destry L. Hoffard 01-10-2020 01:32 PM
