Guess who?

So with the season here in Maine ending with a brutal snowstorm, I thought it would be fun to change some gears and play a fun little game of guess my grade using wood as a clue. So things don’t get too crazy I’ll start by posting a picture, who guesses it correctly will post a pic and so forth! I think it can be a fun little game to test your skills and a chance to see some great looking wood (I mean who can get tired of looking at great looking stocks!)

Reggie Bishop 12-31-2019 08:42 AM

Grade 2 is my guess.

Rick Riddell 12-31-2019 08:54 AM

Is it that obvious! Yes grade 2!

Reggie Bishop 12-31-2019 09:11 AM

Here is mine--

Were stocks graded down for non symmetry? (ie fancy on one side, plain on the other)?

That always seems to be the problem when you case them John ,the Better side always seems to be the side that goes down ! The Picture I posted on Page one of this thread is a Late Remington , 1/2 Frame 12 Gauge D Grade and in my Opinion Both sides are more than suitable but I think this is more of a Remington Era thing than the earlier Parker Guns ! Of course just my opinion !

Bill Murphy 12-31-2019 11:43 AM

I haven't seen answers to the last two or three postings. OK, right or wrong?

Dean Romig 12-31-2019 11:54 AM

I'm saying GH on Harry's and DH on Stan's.

We generally see "non-symmetrical" stocks on Grade 2, 1, and 0 guns but not so much on Grade 3 and higher.

Harry Collins 12-31-2019 11:58 AM

Yes, Dean. Mine is a GHE 20. Tag! You're it.

Dean Romig 12-31-2019 02:12 PM

I know Russ’ gun so I will disqualify myself on this one.

BTW, it is my favorite Parker ever.

Dean Romig 12-31-2019 02:14 PM

Well, it is a hammer gun. I guess grade 2 maybe.

Dean Romig 12-31-2019 02:42 PM

Nope, not a grade 2.

Brian Dudley 12-31-2019 02:43 PM

Well, between the circassian and the hard rubber bp, it is a head scratcher.

No.

Rick Riddell 12-31-2019 03:16 PM

Brian I haven’t a clue, it looks surreal to be a Parker stock! Probably an odd ball 1 or 2.
