Upland Idaho 2019

Reflecting on my annual 10 day trip to Idaho...lots of birds this year. We hunted sharpies, Huns, chukars, blue and ruffed grouse and valley quail. Found plenty of all species and the weather was perfect. Great time of year to be out in the uplands with the bird dogs. Here’s a few photos from my trip.

Beautiful country and great pics that leave me yearning to experience that part of this great country we live in. I will mark my vacation schedule accordingly for next fall in anticipation of your PM, just sayin :) Safe travels.

thanks for sharing. great pics. A friend whose son lives in Idaho got back from a grouse hunt . Lots of fun but said if you are on Medicare you are to old to start grouse hunting.

:rotf:

Idaho is a well kept secret. We see lots of ruffies and this year there were loads of sharptails.

Um, Not if you keep yacking about it. Idaho is a very dangerous place. We got Sabre Tool Tigers, Water Moccasins, Pterodactyl, Great White river sharks, 90% Humidity, Hurricanes and Volcanos ready to erupt next week. This isn’t even the dangerous stuff. Stay home, save yourself! :nono::)

Shawn, I can tell by your photos you treasure the entire experience, including the land you hunt. You'll be rewarded by your trips many times over as you look back at those photos. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.

Garry...

Thanks for the kind words.

Shawn, I appreciate your photos and adventure accounts. The west is big enough to accommodate a few bird hunters who like to walk.

Maybe I’ll see you along the county dirt road information highway some time.

Wow, I live in Idaho and don’t do that well! I need to get over to the eastern side for some sharpies!

Yep, I saw him last week chasing a couple of turkey hunters from Utah. We also have big red dogs that bite people from out of state. Be careful out there.:)

You have excellent taste. I love Trueblood. Have all his books and my favorite story is about the first ever Idaho chukar hunt.
