New Picture on the Home Page
A really nice and well set-up shot of sandhill cranes ("ribeye on the wing") and a very nice DH used to take them!
Nice job Mark! and Thanks John! . |
It is excellent

Great job, love hunting Sandhill's! Having a Parker in you're hand while hunting them makes it that much sweeter!

Very nice indeed. Thank you Gentlemen !

For those who did not see my earlier post - Here is the backstory on sandhill double -
Back from Canada (outside Regina) - good hunt in damp weather - on and off rain throughout. Had opportunities for Ducks Geese and Sandhills and made good on them. My 3 frame 32" DHE combined with KM #3 1 1/14 oz. really reached out when needed on big birds. The 32" VHE was deadly on ducks and a couple Canadas. I had much fun watching my hunting friends fluster with the lodge issued jam-o-matics. Of course my Parker's were flawless - as expected. A couple pics of crane decoy spread and 3 frame in a barley field. |
Mark I am curious, what does your 3 frame 32" D grade weigh please ?
|
Randy
The DHE is built on a #3 Frame barrels 4lbs 14oz. gun weighs 9.05 lbs on digital scale. I purchased the gun from a much respected member of this forum. My good friend Craig located it for me after a multi year search. I am lucky to have it. :) |
3 frame 12's are underrated. I have two and love both. Mine are not as nice as Mark's

We have a Sandhill season in Alabama now. Only in the North and only 400 draws for 3 bird limit. There is a separate sign up for the lottery for a tag but the Alabama DNR website was put together by the same guys that did Obama care. Took me 4 tries to get a hunting license.

# 3 Frame 12’s
In the mid 1980’s pre Parker Story days Charlie Price and I were attending The Ohio Gun Collectors Show in Columbus. There was an exhibitor that had an all original VHE number three frame two barrel set. One barrel was a 12 gauge and the other was a 10 gauge. A real duck/goose gun for sure! The gun was in high condition and if my memory is correct the asking price was $3500. Inexpensive in today’s world but a lot of money in the mid 1980’s when VHE grade .410’s could be bought for $7 to $8 grand! 😊
