Those Fox Guys

I saw this on the Fox Collectors Website.
I'm certainly no expert but there seems to be some confusion on what should be open and what should be closed.

Oh how I wish I could make a comment. But it would be so inappropriate and I'm still basically a newcomer to this board, but wow do I have a winner cooked up for this one! Jerry It's just too good!

Now that is "Scary" !!!!

Gerald McPherson 11-18-2010 11:41 AM

Well hunting is exciting. He just forgot. Gerald

Kinda reminds me of a few lines from "Guadal Canal Diary" and I quote... "This is my rifle and this is my gun.... This is for fightin' and this is for fun!" :rotf:

Jerry Andrews 11-18-2010 02:14 PM

I was looking at the dog, is he smiling? Jerry

Norm Growden 11-18-2010 02:34 PM

What, you guys never seen a ventilated barrel before?

Ed Blake 11-18-2010 03:03 PM

He's just getting ready for his TSA pat-down.

Robert Rambler 11-18-2010 05:35 PM

I don't get it ? The barrels look like their pointed in a safe direction to me!!:rotf::rotf: You guys are BAD!:corn:

Dave Suponski 11-18-2010 06:07 PM

Ya...I agree with Robert...Whats the problem?...The barrel is pointed down(I hope)....

Thomas L. Benson Sr. 11-18-2010 06:18 PM

Looks like a drilling to me. Thomas L. Benson Sr.

Jerry Andrews 11-18-2010 07:10 PM

I can't get past the look on the dogs face. Jerry

Kurt Densmore 11-20-2010 12:38 AM

The question is up or down....his fly that is...

The barrels seem to be pointed in a safe direction.

Not sure about his horse.....it could escape from the barn at any time.

Looks like a nice little fox anyway.

Nice foto- great big tail fan-

Makes me wish I were 35 and not 70- Dog may be a golden, having the blaze vest is a good idea in any heavy cover or swale. Not enough detail of his gun for me to be sure of the grade or gauge. I have a Utica mfg. 20 bore Fox Sterlingworth- very fine gun indeed, and it is "chain lightning" on pigeons.

I picked it up a few years ago in hopes we would get a legal dove season- 28" barrels M&F, DT- just a good basic using double- We didn't get the dove season however.

As far as the gentleman in the foto- with his gun closed. Here's my read. I am 99% sure that his gun has empty chambers- But breaking open a double when not in firing situation- clays or game birds- removes all doubt.

Bobby Cash 11-20-2010 09:11 AM

Perhaps the broken zipper to demonstrate a "no threat" situation on that front.

As per OP,"Fox SW 20 gauge Ejector with Beavertail"
