Don’t even think about showing up without that!

…...and just think, Mike: If the stars align, and Mercury is in retrograde, you might be adding a bit more "Sterling" to your PENN MEMORIAL.

One of those Senators is more reliable than 100 in Washington.

Steve I’m not too familiar with that competition. What are total win totals for each team?

In answer to your question, Team Fox took the first five but Team Parker won the last two, convincingly. Could this be the year of the THREE-PEAT?? Only time (and talent) will tell. :corn::corn::corn: |
From the Fox archives - 1st year (2012) at Addieville.
2012 Fox-Parker Challenge Team Fox carried the day with a score of 219 ex 250 targets, versus 201 for Team Parker. A total of 46 shooters participated in the Fox-Parker Challenge concurrent with the American Classics event. This included 19 Fox shooters and 27 Parker shooters. Team Fox: Chuck DeVinne 49, Jim Kline 44, Frank Srebro 44, Bill Sanford 42 and Paul Plunkett 40 Team Parker: Carl Harlan 47, Dave Fjelline 40, Larry Frey 40, George Purtill 37 and Raymond Roy 37 |

If I'm not mistaken, the 1st Parker-Fox $50 Challenge was at Addieville in 2010....
Please correct me if I'm wrong. . First Picture - Polish Ghost of Parker Past... Second Picture - Toolman's trick shooting "I bet I can shoot between two simul-clays without touching either." Third Picture - The Esteemed Founders. Fourth Picture - The Team Fox $50 Surrender . |
It's my recollection that 2010 and one or two earlier ones at Addievillle were variously billed as "informal shoots" and "warm ups for Hausmann's". See attached link for 2010. Tool Man and Dave were running them for the northeast contingent back then and one/both can clarify.
I do believe the 2012 event in conjunction with the Vintage Cup is the first one that was stepped up and hyped as the "Fox - Parker Challenge" and with a large perpetual trophy. Again, Tool Man should be able to comment definitively. http://forum.foxcollectors.com/viewt...lit=addieville |
Ok, no arguement there but for the fact that the Vintagers and Fox/Parker Challenge weren’t at Addieville in 2012... to the best of my recollection.

Here's a short summary of our shooting events & results at this year's Vintage Cup at Addieville. 2012 Ansley H Fox Championship Ansley H Fox Champion: Chuck DeVinne with a score of 49 ex 50, using a 12 gauge 26" AE Fox FE Grade Winner: Jim Kline with a score of 44, using a 12 gauge 32" Sterlingworth DE Grade Winner: Frank Srebro also with a score of 44, using a 12 gauge 32" AE Fox Jim and Frank both shot the same score (44 ex 50) and the 2nd/3rd places were decided by Addieville staff using Winscore software and tie breaker stations Special note is also made that Chuck was High Over All in the American Classics. This is (I believe) the first time the American Classics HOA was won using an A H Fox gun. There were 74 entrants in the American Classics event. Team Fox: Chuck DeVinne 49, Jim Kline 44, Frank Srebro 44, Bill Sanford 42 and Paul Plunkett 40 Team Parker: Carl Harlan 47, Dave Fjelline 40, Larry Frey 40, George Purtill 37 and Raymond Roy 37 The A H Fox Collectors Board of Directors wish to sincerely thank all our members and our Parker colleagues who participated in this exciting first-time concurrent. It's always nice to shoot with friends while using both fine examples of American gunmaking at its best! The Parker Association hosted a very nice reception afterwards at their booth, and we thank our friends for their largesse and warmth. |
Good stuff. I’m hoping to meet some of you gents that post on here.

TOUCHE Dean-O.... but as Frank so aptly recalled, those were the "DE FACTO DAYS" long before the FPC Cup became the official registry for this beloved contest.
Regarding my shooting prowess: I believe Bogardus and Gilbert would be green with envy on the skill required to insert an ounce of 8's between two moving targets at that distance with such surgical precision!!! The fact that I can repeat that feat on most any course,------with Fox or Parker in hand---should silence the legions of "cranks" that for some odd reason take great pleasure in heckling me at every opportunity!! :crying::crying: |

Yes sir, that’s a fine lot of Philly Fox dandies. I’ll just look where the crowd has gathered. I’m kinda hard to notice. A wallflower type. But here’s a close up so if you see me please say hello.

Hey Dave - it’s good to see you back on here. We sure do miss you around here.
. |
Any other pictures Dave? That pic looks like any other day at Addieville. They keep that tent up all summer long. I was there for the Vintagers event then but don’t have but a few pics.
. |
Mike, Just leave it where it is! No need to bring it unless you and the team are planning on losing it? I say we keep it for another year? Anyone have any objections? :) I guess that is the bicycle racer in me coming out again. :0 . Have fun everyone out east. I'll be thinking about you guys and all the stories Dean and I will be missing. Don't worry we will be traveling a bit more next year. Dean has to visit a couple of fellas out east next year.
GOOD LUCK AND BRING HOME THE CUP! |

71/58 Parker.

That is pretty impressive to see that ALL the qualifying Parker scores were higher than any of the competitors scores.

Tool Man on his knees again kissing the ring of the "Bishop". This would make a good Picture of the Month of October on the home page!
|
I've gotta say that Steve "Toolman" Cambria is the epitome of "Sportsmanship" and I congratulate him and all of the Team Fox shooters for their wonderful and graceful sportsmanship!
. |
I was wondering when you would get around to posting that one Chuck. The Fox boys were a great bunch to hang around with. Congrats to those that made the team on their shooting. I asked Toolman about all the smack talk prior to the shoot. His reply, "in my family we giveth and we taketh". I am quite certain he can do both very well, all in good fun of course.
|
Yup, Tool Man can dish it out but he can take it when it comes back at him, which is quite often. We need to be prepared for future not so good results. It could get UGLY but all in good fun.
