32 inch VH 16

How common would this be in a 1 1/2 frame pow grip ? just had one come into my shop today and gun has seen some use .

Randy G Roberts 08-27-2019 10:19 PM

By POW do you mean round knob?

Jeff Kuss 08-27-2019 10:41 PM

prince of wales.
That is one on my wish list!

Reggie Bishop 08-28-2019 07:52 AM

Very uncommon. I have only seen one other 1 1/2 frame 32" 16 gauge gun and it was a straight grip.

This one is a 32" 16 Ga on a 1 1/2 frame, straight grip also Reggie.

That sounds like a nice Parker Randy!

I saw a 32” 1.5 frame GH with a straight grip in DT’s shop about 4 years ago. Unfortunately it wasn’t for sale.

Maybe it is just my clientele as of late, but I have had a number of rare long barreled small bores in the shop lately.

two 32" 1-1/2 frame 16g. guns. A VHE and a DH.
a 32" 0 frame 20g VH, a 32" 1 frame 20g. DHE
and a 32" 2 frame 20g VH!

Maybe you're just hangin with a better crowd of late :rotf:

A 32", 0-fame, 20 has got to be a very rare bird. I'm not saying I would want one, my 20/32/1-frame is a little barrel-heavy, but it would be a very cool gun.

Garry L Gordon 08-28-2019 12:07 PM

You folks make a guy want to change his ways and get a longer barreled gun!

Randy, that gun of yours sounds like a very (very!) nice one.

It actually was a well used gun when I acquired it, thankfully at a price that I could justify having Brian clean it up and recut the checkering as it was well worn. Not a total refinish of the stock, the checkering wear will now look more appropriate for the age/condition of the gun. It had to be put back on face with some other issues corrected as well. It should be a fun one to shoot. As it stands now Brian hopes to deliver it at the Vintagers. Good place to have one delivered eh, lots of shooting opportunities there.

Well, all those guns are between just 2 guys.

I cannot say that I really like working on long barreled guns.
Right now I am in week two of polishing and prepping for blue 10 sets of barrels and half of them are 32" sets. Every couple of inches means more work in prep.

Yes, it is. The 32" 0 frame 20g that I have in right now for total restoration is a VH Straight grip safety delete gun. With a full comb and straight comb. 1-5/8" at both heel and toe. Letters exactly as it is.

It will be a real beauty when done.

Jay I have a BHE 32 inch straight grip 20 0n an O frame and it's very pleasant to shoot. I was surprised it's an O frame as it's factory chambered for 3 inch shells.

I'll have to go check the frame size on my GHE 32 inch vent rib 16 to see if it's a 1 or maybe a 1 1/2 frame.

Brian, the VH #2 frame 32" 20 wouldn't be my old serial number 153,333 would it? I have been searching for that gun for many years. Thanks for letting me know. Bill Murphy

No. It was not.

Bill Murphy 08-28-2019 06:00 PM

My search continues. However, I would be interested in any #2 frame 20.

chris dawe 08-29-2019 07:50 AM

So I'll hazard a guess its a semi desirable

Rich Anderson 08-29-2019 09:32 AM

My 32 inch GHE is on a #1 frame as is a grade 1 32inch 16ga hammer gun.
