20/28 ga A-1 Special?
Robin Hollow has a 20/28 ga A-1 Special with a serial # in the 20,000 range
. http://www.gunsinternational.com/Par...n_id=100154760 What gives? I never heard of a 20/28 ga set, and a 20,000 SN? Engraving doesn't look original Repro either. Nice gun though. Joe |
Joe, It's a Parker Repro..
|
Serial 20-XXX is a legitimate Repro serial number. The barrels are the mystery. 20 and 28 gauge Repro barrels are for different frames.
|
A good friend of mine just purchased a nice 20/20/28 ga repro set at auction in CA
David |
Could it be one of the Galazan unfinished A-1 Repros? There were a number of different gauges.
|
I saw that gun come up and wondered about that gauge combo? 28 ga. 00 frame barrels do not fite 0 frame guns? Never found any info from PR that they made them. Im sure theres a special story behind it all....
|
David, maybe you could find out for us who made the 28 gauge barrels for your friend's Repro. Of course, if this is a Petersen gun, anything is possible. A friend just bought a 16 gauge K-80 that belonged to Petersen. Apparently, Krieghoff built it.

Bill
It was a Peterson gun. I will try and find out some more about it. He got a great price on that gun! David |
Dave, I know it's a Repro (read my post again), that's why I posted here. Bill, I got confused since Repro SNs are written 20-138, not 20138. I'd love to know how they got the 28 ga bbls to fit the 0 frame. I like the engraving. Gournet perhaps?

It turns out the Patterson gun is a 28/28/ 410-original on a OOO frame, The barrels are marked OOOO but are OOO. Sure wish I had bid on that guy!
David |
Actually the Repro .410 28 combos were made on the 00 frame, even though the .410 barrels were marked 0000.
|
Frame Size
Parker 000 frames should be called 0000 frames to be consistent. Has anyone actually measured the firing pin separation on reproduction guns?
Best Austin |
I measured the separation of the 0000 frame years ago and have misplaced my notes. We have a poster or two on here who own 0000 frame Parker Repro .410s. Maybe they would post after measuring their guns.

I have a Parker Repo A1S three barrel set built to my specifications in 1989 in 28--28---410 cased in a Huey case . The 28's are marked 00 frame and are 26" and 28"---the 410 is marked as a 0000 frame and are 28" ( these barrels are thick enough to stand the pressure of a nitro express ) . The engraving is a pair of woodcock in flight ,a partridge in fight and my Brittney on the bottom of the frame . straight stock and a single select trigger . Allan Swanson

Allan,
That's a sweet sounding shooter. |
Chuck : The gun has never been shot !!!! Allan
|
Unless you were saving it for me (and I'd really appreciate that), I'd say shoot it, hunt it, enjoy it. You only go around once.
|
Allan get in that old truck and take a swig of houch and shoot out of the windows, Bonnie and Clyde style!
|
We sure do have a hard time getting information about the 0000 frame .410 Repros. I wonder who owns them all? Obviously it's no one who reads or posts on this forum.
|
They do not exist...no proof....Its just a mean lie....Thats my story and Im sticking to it. My thinking is...All the 410 barrel sets are marked 0000 but they fit 00 frames? How can that be? The barrels are the same. It is possible that there was a special mini size frame that had the same fire-pin width in a smaller package? If so could only be one ot two. Its more likely that a 410 only set has been confused as somthing deferent as the barrels are marked 0000 and the frame is not making it seem special. If they do exist hope the owner is willing to share....thanks all SXS ohio...(-:

I agree with Chuck on this gun. Maybe Bill Hadfield didn't pay close enough attention to details when he typed the serial number. The barrels are anyone's guess though.

How mutch did 3 barrel set fech with all the fee's?
