It's in the book as a 32" DHE with ST, large forend, and vent rib. Now it's a pimped-up "sidelock". I knew Pachmayer did upgrades, but sideplates?

Pachmayr was the better of the known Parker embellishers and was located by Los Angeles. This gun is Mr Pachmayr's concept of what an Invincible grade gun should be, but never was. The sideplates are false and it has plenty of gold, which some people like. I don't know how many of these were made, I recall hearing 30, but I could be wrong.

They should not be confused with a real Invincible, of which only three are known and are all in the NRA Museum.

I couldn't resist asking the seller how he could claim it's 100% original when he openly stated that Pachmayr did the engraving. Also, note the poor inletting of the wood to metal. All this and it's on a # 4 frame to boot!

Oh Chuck. Details, details. Its 100% original as 100% modified so its a 200% gun, even better than brand new.

There are quite a few Pachmayr Parkers at the Buffalo Bill museum in Cody.... and there are a whole bunch of all grades and gauges of Parkers there as well.

I'd say ol Frank was pretty handy with a hammer and chisel.

Frank Pachmayr did not do these himself but employed several skilled craftsmen, the youngest of whom was still doing engraving a couple years ago, and may still be now. The Pachmayr shop was the better of the gun engraving shops and was known for modifying Parkers, Model 12's and 21's, etc. Gold inlays were favored. This was during a period before original condition in guns became as favored as it is today, and Los Angelenos had the wealth to get a fancy gun. Robert Peterson had a bunch of them.
