Reports from Las Vegas?

So, what treasures have been found?

todd allen 01-26-2019 09:18 PM

The Doctor's gun went to a new home today. A 32" VHE Trap gun came home with me.

todd allen 01-27-2019 01:07 AM

Tomorrow I will see what other mischief I can get into.

Randy G Roberts 01-27-2019 10:52 AM

I came home with the checkbook still intact. I went there looking for a very specific CH or AH grade and was unable to find it. A couple of the auction companies had some very nice small bore Parker's that are coming up soon. Amoskeag had 3 including 2 410's and a 28 VH. One of the 410's had an especially long BTFE they were stating was factory. Poulin has a really nice DHE 28 on display. Other than the regular large dealers there weren't many folks with Parkers that caught my eye. Member Pat Lien has a D grade 20 with 32" barrels for sale at the show. My search continues for the 32" AH or CH target gun, HINT.....

I am going to bring a very nice 32" BHE in to have it looked at. Not necessarily to sell, but just to get an opinion or three on the originality. (Was it refinished?) It's a 1906 12 ga. with Titanic barrels.
Who would be the best, to get an opinion on the finish?

Randy G Roberts 01-27-2019 12:08 PM

Josh at Morphys can help with that.

todd allen 01-27-2019 09:08 PM

Had a very nice visit with Josh. I really expected him to be quite older, considering his knowledge and experience.
Also had a very nice visit with Jon Kruger, at the end of the show. We've crossed paths quite a bit, at sporting clays shoots. He is quite a gentleman, and a heck of a shot. Retired from SCs for about 3 years now.
Saw Jim Thynne from a distance, but didn't move fast enough to catch him.
Beautiful show, lots of great guns, friendly people. All in all, a very nice show.
I would suggest that in the future, we all wear something to identify us as Parker people.

I shot with Kruger at a shoot in Maryland years ago. He outscored me by a bit, but was a pleasure to shoot with. I didn't realize he retired from NSCA. I've been gone a few years myself.

Randy, are you looking for non ejectors guns only?

No Sir. An ejector gun will work. DT's a PG are a must for the time being.

Rich Anderson 01-28-2019 12:03 PM

are the 32's a must?

Nope. 34's will work as well.

Jay Gardner 01-28-2019 12:40 PM

A 20/32 DHE would be fun to own.

Heck I’d be happy with an EH 10 gauge 34” . Or a Grade 2 top lever 10 on a 4 or 5 frame with 34” barrels .

Josh Loewensteiner 01-28-2019 11:45 PM

Vegas was great! Loads of nice guns to look at including a 28ga 2 barrel set A1 Special, a 12ga A1 and a killer AAHE 12ga. The Lien’s has their usual display of cool and quality guns and so did Paul Dorsa. Enjoyed the show a great deal and saw a number of PGCA members.

Patrick Lien 01-29-2019 02:44 AM

You guys should have been there!!

2173 miles round trip for me this year. We had a great time! Bought and sold some nice guns, cases and trinkets. Since I drove this year we loaded the Suburban to the hilt and had a little bit of everything. I am already looking forward to next year!

Any of ya'll happen to see any nice 3 dog DHs in Vegas for sale?

Dave Noreen 01-29-2019 10:36 AM

I sure missed my annual chat with Dave and you boys. Next year.

I picked up a nice all original 1905 DHE 16 with Damascus steel barrels. A survivor that has been in one family for 114 years. I can’t wait to shoot it this weekend.

Dean Romig 01-30-2019 06:18 AM

What a nice DHE ! Very well kept.

I love the “turnips” on the floor plate.
