SERIAL NUMBER QUESTION
Would Parker Reproduction # 12-00093 be the 93rd Reproduction Produced? Thanks
|
We know it would have been the 93rd ‘standard’ 12 gauge DHE made.

Okay . . . if 12-00093 is the 93rd 12-ga. standard DHE made, then what is this?

I claim ignorance and probably shouldn’t have answered Steve’s question in the first place.
My answer to that question was as compared to the SSS and the SC guns. . |
:corn:It's a .410 that has been the source of much mystery and intrigue.
|
I had an A1 special 20-218 - couldn't have been the 218th produced, as the A1's didn't come out for a few years...

It has been found that each grade of Parker Reproductions DHE, BHE and A-1 Special and each gauge within each grade had their own unique set of serial numbers. It has also been found that special editions, i.e. Buffalo Bill, NSF, SSS, etc. were assigned their own set of serial numbers. Disclaimer: Someone very close to the Parker Reproduction project has told me that there may be a couple of examples of serial numbers assigned to guns that have fallen outside of what was stated above. |

I assumed (seems incorrectly) that all the 20 gauges were serialized together regardless of grade. Learn something new every day. |
Buffalo Bill and NFS, what are they? I know a little about the Steel Shot Special (SSS) and the Duck Stamp Special but these two are new to me.

Thanks, I didn't know this. Do you know if they did other "specials"? Is there and articles or advertisements from back then announcing these special builds? I have never seen anything and would like to add it (if it exists) to our website paper collection for these guns.

I'm not aware of any other special limited editions that were offered, nor am I aware of any brochures or literature that may have accompanied their availability. I would suspect, however; that a flyer may have been sent to each organization's membership announcing their availability. Perhaps C.O.B. might know a bit more about the NSFL guns and can fill us in as I believe, Rich was a member and actually owned one of these guns. But beware, he might tell us he owned a special limited edition NSFL repo, but what he actually will mean to say is that he owned a special limited edition NSFL Parker Reproduction. :)
I seem to recall seeing ads for the Duck Stamp Classic. Perhaps in the DGJ, Sporting Classics or Shooting Sportsman???? Hopefully, I or someone else can dig up some paper on these offerings. |
