What are your Parker goals for 2019?
1 Attachment(s)
On the collecting front, I want some small bores. 16s on 0 frames, half frames, maybe a 28. We'll see.
On the shooting front, I want to get my two vh 20 gauges I bought in the past two years on some real birds and get my puppy on some. What does everyone else hope to do, realizing the devil fools with the best laid plans. |
willys and parkers go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly...my goals for parker stuff would be a 28 ga repo and to get to use the big parker 12 on some ducks and maybe a turkey or two.....charlie

My small collection/accumulation of Parkers are small bores with unusual or hard to find specs. I have one 16 which I really don't consider a small bore but i like it nonetheless. I am looking for a couple of small bores with specific, hard to find specs so I will be lucky to find either. I would like to get on some wild quail again in 2019, but they are as hard to find as the small bores on my wish list!!
|
I desperately need to get some project guns finished in 2019. I've procrastinated long enough.
. |
I hope by the end of 2019 I'm wore out, my Brittany is exhausted from bird hunting and my hammerless G Grade Parkers will need to be redone because of constant hunting & shooting.
|
I'm with Dean, time to get what I have where I want them, but a Baby Bretton might get in my way!
|
My goal is to spend more time with them and my setters in the grouse woods. Other than that, I would really like to get my 20/32 out on appropriate duck water.

Got a hankern' to add a very late Remington Parker to my accumulation. Doesn't have to be a Skeet Gun, but something with short barrels and open chokes that I might actually shoot. Double triggers preferred.
|
I would like to find a early BH 10ga 30 or 32. I would have to sell my BH 12ga to offset the cost. That way my 10ga Parker hammerless collection would be complete as I have a DE, CE and AE. I know of one BH 10 ga and maybe the owner will decide to let it go this year. Parker only made 28 I think so my chances are very low of finding one.
|
To find that pristine LATE production, 16 GA, DHE, 1 frame, with 26 or 28" barrels.
I have had a set of orphaned 30" barrels and forend for years that need to be coupled to a great gun. Bob Jurewicz |

What, no G or P or even V? . |
Dean: I have a NH (PH) 6 frame 10 gauge I would consider a EH (GH) 6 frame 10 gauge. :)
|
I wanna find a VH/VHE 28 on a 00 frame , a 16 gauge GH on an 0 frame , an EH 10 with factory original 26” barrels and the real needle in the haystack an EH 10 with factory original 24” barrels . And yeah if they were acquired they’d be used by me ! Oh yeah Grade 2 top lever 10’s on 4 and 5 frames wouldn’t be turned down .
|
I want to try to find the time to make some good progress on a 12g A-1 special build as well as maybe get barreled actions put together for 20 and 28g builds.
And I would like to try and find time to write a few Parker Pages articles that I have had in the hopper for a while. |
Craig, I hadn't thought about selling or trading my BH 10 hammerless World's Fair gun, but keep me in mind if you come up with something special. Presently, it is wearing a set of late #3 frame ten gauge Titanic barrels which fit it quite well. It has a less than acceptable restock, but the metal is astounding.

I don't plan my Parker purchases. I just look at the sites often and jump on something if I really want it. My planning for 2019 will not involve Parkers but planting sorghum in the spring on the property. As soon as the ground is workable in the spring, we'll plow and disk the areas where I want the sorghum. Sorghum makes great cover and food for the pheasants. It’s time for a new seed drill so I’ve been looking on line for one for sale within decent driving distance. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on it since I only use it to make 7 foot strips on five of the fields. I’m not planting the whole fields for money crops, just making cover and feed for the pheasants. No need to make an investment in a brand new seed drill. I’m looking forward to planting time. For me, it’s a lot of fun.

Charlie, I have way enough Parkers, but I am still on the hunt for an original 40-42 Willys coupe or sedan. I am not much of a farmer, but I have the foundation laid for a garage for the Willys.

I have 2 CHEs I acquired last year that need some work. Getting them sorted out will be the priority. Provided those bernards on the one get finished and the dtock on the other gets repaired we can get serious about restoring them.... Provided I ever crawl out of this Colt Firearms hole I have gone down.
2020 maybe I can chase a BH....hahahaha |
bill i too love those old willys coupe or sedan....them things bring big money especially the coupes...if i see or hear of one i will contact you....i would say a nice origanal 40 willys coupe would be worth more than a b grade parker in nice shape...charlie

Continue the search for the 2nd set of Titanic Steel barrels specified in the PGCA letter for my ultra-rare (2 known) AH 16 ga. 0-frame 26" Damascus steel gun, sent back to Parker 3 times for restocking twice and adding the second set of fluid steel barrels (no length, chambers or chokes specified in the letter) the last time. They're out there somewhere!
|
Wow Kevin! Sounds like a special one!
|
I'm with Tom in that I don't plan acquisitions. I like the long barreled versions and just react when we cross paths. I'm on no great mission but I am developing an itch for a VH 28 gauge but it's gonna need 30" barrels before I get serious. Right now I'm on more of a what I don't want mission and that would be single triggers and ejectors, on a bad roll right now.

I tried to warn you. |
Good memory John, yes you did. Just hard to walk away from a great gun just because of a ST. To be continued I suppose :corn:
|
My current goal is not to buy as many Parkers as last year. We will see
how that goes! |
What's new in 2019
Well Jan 12 and 13th will be spent at Beaver Dam lake in Tunica Ms where I am a guest and will reacquaint my DHE 20 ga 30" bbl gun I wrote about in the last PP. The DHE will meet a newly acquired Super Fox HE 12 to trade stories about the past. Also in the mix I plan on inviting to the Duckathon my EH 10ga Damascus 30 incher with gauge Mates to shoot some Bismuth 12 #5 on ducks. At the end of the day we will see who carries the banner and from the way I shot kamakazi Whitewings yesterday the DHE 20 will be the victor. I could not connect with the Super Fox with 1 oz 7 1/2 shot loads but when I did poof!!!! Whatever the outcome it's all GOOD!!! I'm selling some non Parker guns so may be in the market like lots of folks for small bore like 20 and 16's. Still looking for C grade small gauge Parker. Happy New Year All.

BH 10’s
Craig, the BH 10’s seem to be more elusive than the AH tens. According to TPS
there were approximately 22 A’s and 23 B’s. Small numbers in each grade! In almost forty years I’ve only seen four or five B’s but probably more than a dozen AH tens. Possibly the A’s were better cared for over the years and subsequently had a higher survival rate. 🤔 |
Just hope that the good Lord will grant good health, and maybe I can find that 20 gauge hammer gun, that I need well I know where it is just have to do a little more haggling do not really need anything else, Gary
|
My goals for 2019 would include, clean bill of health, spend more time with my 3 grandkids, steady up my 2 and a half yr old english setter, shoot more of my parkers and more often.
|
Go for it David!
I hope Beaversam meets all your expectations! . |
I may slow down in 2019 as I ended up buying quite a bit in 2018. Having said that…I would like to add a 16 gauge hammer gun and maybe a higher grade lifter in 10 or 12. I also have a handful of projects, some going out and hopefully some coming back.
I know I’ll also find a few I can’t live without during the year as well. That is the fun part of this addiction ;) |

My goal for Parkers for 2019 would be to shoot them more. To be honest, I do not shoot some of my Parkers very much because I end going to the same gun most of the time ( a DHE 16) In Dec. I purchased a DHE 20 that I hope to get too know at the skeet range come spring. As to more Parkers, something always seems to come ago that I think I can not live without and they always seem to cost more than the last one. Need to plan for more bird hunting trips in 2019 not more shotguns.
|
My Parker goal is the same as last year (and the years before), find a set of Damascus O frame 16 ga 30" inch ejector barrels for my AHE that was born with those barrels but was then sent back to Remington and fitted with 20 and 28 gauge fluid steel barrels (we all know what Remington did with those 16 ga dangerous barrels :crying: ) I have seen two sets, but neither were for sale:banghead: So still on the hunt !
