Kudos on the new home page photo. Gotta love those 16 gauges. (Nice photo, Mills.)

Still showing Shawn Wayment's great photo.

Mills Morrison 10-30-2018 08:20 PM

I'm flattered but that is a Fox up top!

Thanks for the compliment, John

The new photo just appeared for me. Nice picture but seriously, a Fox ?

legh higgins 10-31-2018 08:54 PM

Dean ...are you there?

Dean Romig 10-31-2018 08:58 PM

I'm here...

I have to admit, my Parkers reluctantly share safe space with a nice little Sterly.

Foxes are more like Parkers than any other maker in my opinion. A Parker and Fox collection go well together. In my opinion

That's a great picture Mills! It makes me want a 16 gauge sxs, which I don't have. I would be happy with either brand in a 16...

I am looking forward to the day when Bachelders ships back my legacy 16 ga vh with new bone charcoal case colors. I shot a double on grouse with this gun behind the Norwood, ma airport 2 hrs before one of my senior high football games. We won by the way but if the coach knew his team captain was bird hunting prior to a game he would have me running around the track. You just can not beat a 16. Parker or Fox. New England's original grouse gun

Jay, you need to get a 16 gauge hammer gun. I am surprised you have not found one yet. I am still looking myself and just have not found the right one.

One year I bought all the 16's Jim Thynne brought to Vegas. This was one of them. It's a transition DHE 236,xxx. Hits em fine if I do my part.

Mills Morrison 11-01-2018 02:14 PM

Wow! That is a great photo.

Michael Moffa 11-01-2018 02:20 PM

That was dove shooting down here in Auburn about 3 seasons ago. Not many birds on opening day. The next year I didn't get any as the closest shots were 50 yards behind some trees. Didn't even try this year, watched the Auburn game instead.

Really nice 16 on a 1 frame. I have a zero frame 16 that is a magic wand, saving it for quail.

Mills Morrison 11-01-2018 02:21 PM

I have a GH 16 on a 1 frame and want one on the 0 frame when the right one comes along. The VH in my picture is Julia's and it is on a 1 frame.

Our dove situation has declined in recent years. The place we usually go has had the population drop through the floor. Lots of negative habitat changes in the area.

I like the 16 gauge just fine, but not no stinkin Fox!
:nono:

Michael Moffa 11-01-2018 02:35 PM

Both my zero frames are Dam3's. Ones 26" (the magic wand) and ones a 30".

Mills Morrison 11-01-2018 02:36 PM

Very nice collection!

Michael Moffa 11-01-2018 02:38 PM

Thanks

Mills, I do need a 16...and I promise I will start working on it :)

There was a Parker 16 gauge TA Hammer, Grade 1 or 0 that just sold at Morphys. Given what it sold for I should have bid on it. I need to to focus my buying and just get one and to be honest I would look at Parkers first :)

And of course a Parker hammer gun in 16 would be ideal!

Jay, check your pm's.

I love them purple hulls....They make me happy...(-: SXS Ohio

Personally I think a Fox and a Parker make lovely companions, even if each one is at the bottom of its respective totem pole...
