Parker DHE 16 with Pistol Grip (round knob)
Great upland gun. Do the 26" barrels hurt this gun that much? Seems like a reasonable price for a DHE in good condition?

Unless I missed something they are uncut 26" tubes.
|
Yes it is a nice original Parker DHE small bore. I thought it was priced reasonably. Most DHE small bores exceed 10K so I assume its the 26" barrels that has the price pushed down. Make a heck of an grouse or woodcock gun.
|
In my opinion that price is more than reasonable - it is on the low side.
That's a stunning little Remington era Parker. . |
The receiver has very little case color, yet the barrels, trigger guard and wood all look near new? Hmmmm….
|
Thats a nice gun no doubt. I'm VERY glad it's not a straight grip as I don't need another 16:) The #1 frame might be a turn off for some but I have O frames that weigh more than 1 frames in a 16.
Steve is hard to get in touch with but a decent guy to deal with. It will make a great upland gun. |
In South Texas those 26” tubes would be a plus! And 24’s would have a following also!
|
Zero frame 16s are almost impossible to find in this serial number range. That is why we study these guns rather closely. A #1 frame should be of no concern in this range.
|
That's right Bill. The 1-frame was always the 'standard' for the sixteen gauge.

Love POW grips. That gun would be great in either the grouse woods, or the plains for pheasant/sharptail with those chokes. Just a tad heavy for a 1 frame 16 w/ 26" barrels, but dont think that would bother me. Beautiful wood also.
Frank doesnt seem to have any problems hitting with his new little upland 12 Lefever w/ 26' tubes--see his post under "other fine doubles" |

I am sure like many in South Texas Mark hunts through a lot of thick Mesquite Thickets.
