NE SXS / Hausmann's

Havent seen any discussion about the Parker table and display. I am happy to help again this year, and put some time in at the table. If I'm not shooting clays, I can at least shoot the bull.
I am planning on getting in Wed eve, and may have to leave Fri. eve--dont know yet. My wife has royally screwed up my plans--she thought it was next weekend , and is going out of town herself, we have 5 dogs( 4 setters and Huck Finn), and I cant take 'em all with me.

Dean Romig 05-24-2018 12:13 PM

Thanks for offering Harold.

The plan was to have a PGCA booth (tables) and I had asked a couple of months ago for volunteers to set up and take down our tables/display and that there are always plenty of members willing to man the booth for a while. Problem is that there is nobody to set up and take down the booth... and that is key.

I stated previously that I would be happy to ship PGCA tablecloths etc. to whomever offered to set up... but I have yet to receive one single offer. Those of us who usually do it (Dave Suponski, Larry Frey and myself) won't be arriving until about Friday mid day and will be leaving Saturday afternoon. It takes less than 1/2 hour to set up and about fifteen minutes to take it all down and pack it up.

Sorry to "rain" on your thread Harold - but that's the long and the short of it...

Best, Dean

Bob Jurewicz 05-24-2018 12:28 PM

Dean,
I am planning to be there mid afternoon Wednesday. I can set up the tables if still needed.
Bob Jurewicz

Dean Romig 05-24-2018 12:32 PM

Absolutely still needed Bob - Thanks for stepping up!

Please shoot me a PM and we'll get the things shipped to you.

How about a volunteer to take it all down now?.... Please?

.

Brian Dudley 05-24-2018 12:39 PM

Dean,

I can help with either setup or takedown or both.

I can just do both if it is easier for the same person to handle both.

I am there setting up and taking down my own stuff, so it is no bug deal to handle it for the PGCA.

Dean Romig 05-24-2018 12:44 PM

Thanks Brian, very much.

It is always easier and goes more quickly if two people are doing it.

Maybe you and Bob Jurewetz can discuss it by PM and let me know who to send the banner and tablecloths to.

Thanks! Dean

.

Brian Dudley 05-24-2018 12:46 PM

Dean,

Just send it to me and I will get it done. Bob can lend a hand physically setting them up if he wants.

I will PM with shipping info.

Harold Lee Pickens 05-24-2018 12:52 PM

Dean, I had sent you a pm about this a couple of weeks ago, but didnt hear back, so assumed it was covered. Sounds like Bob and Brian will be there Wed also, so between us , we should grt it covered.

edgarspencer 05-24-2018 01:23 PM

Allan Mclane and I will be firing up the grill for PGCA members, about 5:30 Friday, after shooting.
Beer and ribs, like last year. Word on the street is Rich Anderson won't be there this year, so I may get more than ONE rib.

Dean Romig 05-24-2018 02:46 PM

I remember that Edgar - and obviously you do too.

And we remember how you all stood around your canopy three hundred feet away, waiting for the food to be ready. Snobs

Dean Romig 05-24-2018 03:23 PM

...'scuse me?? We bring our own food - if we consumed any of yours it was because of your generous offer to have some. I think I had the two smallest pieces I could find on the plate.

...not that I didn't want more, it just wouldn't have been polite to take more.

.

Dean Romig 05-24-2018 03:25 PM

And don't be throwing your bones in the bushes and tall grass - my dog nearly choked to death on bone splinters last year.

I know it wasn't you Edgar - it was some new guys - but NOBODY should be throwing their trash and garbage in the bushes.

You are right Edgar, Rich and I won't be able to attend this year with it being a week later, It would mean getting back from the shoot on Monday and turning right around on Tuesday to head up the Medford shoot which they moved a head a day....:banghead: And Edgar you weren't the only one that only got on rib, but it was very tasty .

Harold Lee Pickens 05-24-2018 03:53 PM

wow Kenny, thats exactly what I need--going to check that out. I will bring the Gator and new tow straps--you missed out on that fun last year.
Looks like you can sleep about 8 in there

Dean Romig 05-24-2018 04:04 PM

Yeah, I'm cancelling my reservation in Vestal and moving in with Kenny...

.

Harold Lee Pickens 05-24-2018 05:11 PM

How many guns can u put in that camper? Seriously, if I had that , I would make a major road trip across the northern US in the fall and hope to be back by Christmas

Dean

I called "dibs" on sleeping under Kenny's new bunkhouse months ago. Not sure he cleared it with the boss:shock:

Bill Murphy 05-24-2018 09:40 PM

When I was in the Army, my vehicle was the only one in the battalion with air conditioning because we had the computers on board. Guys would stand in line with six packs to get a night in that truck. Kenny has the right idea.

Dean Romig 05-24-2018 11:18 PM

Don't laugh..... the abacus really is considered a computer...:rotf:

Harold Lee Pickens 05-25-2018 12:45 PM

Kenny, what brand is that camper??

I thought you said the invite was to PGCA members? Or were you trying to bring him back into the fold last year?

Kenny Graft 05-25-2018 03:07 PM

Last year there was a concerted effort to bring him into the fold, and in fact several were suggesting a collection to pay his dues, although he said he'd refuse it. We invited him for entertainment value. This year, it's a moot point.

Bill Murphy 05-25-2018 06:28 PM

I guess I've been recovering from various surgeries for so long, I don't know who we are "bringing back into the fold". OK, now I'm fully recovered and am willing to do battle with … I don't even remember who the heck they are, or were. By the way, is Francis Morin dead or alive? How about Ed Muderlak? I'll be at Ernie's regardless of who else is there. If I donate to the dinners, will I be welcome? What is the theme of the show and tell out on the Ernie prarie?

Kenny, that looks like the Super version of the one my son PCSd from Clearwater FL, to Kodiak AK, three years ago with a new wife, his dog and their cat. Towed behind his V10 Excursion, they took mostly byways, and spent a month from one small camp site to the next. They broke an axle in the Yukon, and a guy drove his forklift 10 miles to get them, and carried it 10 miles back to his shop, sent a guy to Whitehorse for a new axle, and had them back on the road by morning. Other than a couple Yuenglings, he refused to be paid.

Dean Romig 05-25-2018 09:07 PM

That's the way country folk roll Edgar.

I blew the transmission in my '90 GMC years ago north of Greenville at 11 p.m. almost to Lily Bay on a fishing trip. The wrecker driver about 70-plus told me to take his Chev 2500 4x4 for the duration. Wouldn't take a nickle. Yup, that's how they roll.

Eric Eis 05-26-2018 06:57 AM

With all this talk I am sure going to miss going to Ernie's this year, hopefully the timing will work out better next year.............

Like this:rolleyes:......

Kenny Graft 05-28-2018 07:31 PM

-+There must be a turret under the camo....sneak tank to kill bad guys in the sand!

Bill Murphy 05-28-2018 07:44 PM

Actually, Robin, my "air conditioned" communications truck was an M715 ton and a quarter, about the most indestructible small vehicle ever purchased by the military.

A few minutes after you posted about air conditioned truck I saw this picture and thought I would rattle your can. Just fun en.

Your package showed up today Dean. Complements of UPS.

Attachment 63127

Dean Romig 05-30-2018 09:47 PM

The same ol' UPS Gorillas handled that package I see.

I was afraid if I sent it in a pre-used carton it wouldn't hold up so I went to Staples and bought brand new heavy duty corrugated cartons.

Hard to figure out how that could have happened... Anybody hear about a UPS plane crashing??

Hey... What's that snow shovel doing there - you know somethin' we don't know??

.

Brian Dudley 05-30-2018 09:51 PM

When I saw that box on my doorstep i was afraid it was the mission oak clock that i recently bought. As i could not recall anything else that I had coming in. I was relieved to see Dean’s return address.

John Dallas 05-31-2018 09:21 AM

There are also some gorillas in the airport. Flew to/from Africa recently. They managed to break my Post 4 shooting glasses lenses. Grrr.

I don't fold well these days:rotf: and so far I can still pay my own way. I will miss Ernie's as it's always a good time but I'll probably be saving thousands of dollars by staying home this time. The Medford shoot has a serious lack of vendors which can be a good thing.

Gary Carmichael Sr 05-31-2018 01:46 PM

Rich, I am going to go to Haussmans next year good lord willing , heard so much about it got to go, guess I will park in the back forty too! can I get my Airstream in there, Gary

Dean Romig 05-31-2018 03:00 PM

Gary, I hope the field is dry. Last year it was a mudhole and several vehicles got stuck... even 4WD trucks. The only thing that got them out was a tracked vehicle like a Bobcat.

Did you sell your bus? That thing would get stuck on the high spots.
