A few photos from Drakes Landing
5 Attachment(s)
We were well treated by Dan Andrews and family at Drakes again this year. The smoked brisket and ribs for lunch were amazing, thanks to Jason, the cook.
Daryl Corona, and Sarah Lefever, great great grand daughter orf Uncle Dan Lefever--guess what kind of gun she shot. Eric, Mike Smith, and COB Jim "Cable Guy", a passionate Lefever lover Sarah and Jim Brett Hoops and Jim. Appologies to my friend Tom Pelligrino, A wonderful guy to shoot with, sorry I didnt have any pictures of you |
could you chase an out go'er with that last one?
|
Thanks Harold
I missed shooting at Drake. Its very hard with all the HOF stuff I had to do and I was lucky to have my family attend the Southern this year. Henry enjoyed shooting a lot and really like using Dave Fjeleene's hammer cannon. So I couldn't make it to the Drake. I REALLY missed shooting with Daryl. Maybe when my term is up on the HOF. |
Tom's in the first photo in the background on the right. Had a good time shooting with him on Friday. We belonged to the same gun club in Harrisburg years ago but didn't know each other. If it's not him, its his twin brother.

And i REALLY missed shooting with you George. You could have brought the whole family over to the Drake and shot for a WHOLE lot less.
I hope you are coming to Ernie's as it will only be Smitty and I as Rich and Eric are not coming this year. PS: I had the pleasure of meeting the new "Parker" in your family but you never introduced me to your son. Big faux pas on your part. Never got the G&T either. |
Nice photos Harold! I had a great time shooting with everyone!

Great fun at Drakes! Wonderful hosts, tremendous gun show in the parking lot. Cold aiming fluid and Setter puppies after the shooting, about as good as it gets.
C.O.B. Thanks for the invite, also sorry if you had extra cleaning to do because I coon fingered up several of your Parkers. I don't get to see "those kind" often. Harold, you must be a glutton for punishment because, again you handled my many questions so well. I appreciate your help. Sara, I still dread following you. You shot well. I found myself looking forward to next year before I crossed out of North Carolina |

George, thanks for doing all you do. Maybe next year I may try and go to the dinner. Thanks to all that manned the Parker tent. I tried to find Art on Friday to buy his book, but don't think he was there yet. I met Harry, Mill's son--what a great kid, and you can tell Mills and Julia are raising him right.
George, hope to shoot with you at Ernie's. Reggie, I shot a WW Greener 12 sidelever hammer circa 1875, a German 16 ga hammer, a 4E Ithaca 16, a Parker Grade 2 Hammer 12. Many of my light, and 26" Parkers are much more suited for the small bore course at Hausmanns than at Drakes. So many guns, so little time! |

Yes Chuck that is Tommie boy in the first picture on the right. It was great shooting with everyone and really neat meeting you Sara what with being a LeFever descendant and from what I hear a pretty decent shot. Your G.G.G grand daddy would be proud. Hope to see you all at Ernie's. |

[QUOTE=Daryl Corona;242860]In that picture I was exercising my VHE 30" 28ga.
I thought that gun looked familiar! I have one just like it. Got to love those 30" barrels on a 28! |
Once again Drakes didn't disappoint. 500 targets over four days on two 100 bird courses. Mike, Daryl and I shot true pairs all four days and some of them were extremely difficult targets when done that way. I shot the BHE 32 inch 20, a CHE and GHE 16's, Fox CE 32 inch 12 and a Purdey.
Thanks for posting pics Harold our "photographer" was on vacation shooting:rotf: All that shooting and there was still time to visit the vendors and watch the challenge. |
