Time to start making plans folks!! August 2-5 are the new dates. 2 months after the Spring shoots, 2 months before the Fall shoots. Let's get it on!! http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7dt1zbjk.jpg |
Here is the registration for those interested in attending. Plenty of events to choose from. There is also non-trophy shooting for a reduced price for those who don't care about taking home some bling.

I'm looking forward to it!
For those planning on attending, there are 2 new hotels in Tunkhannock which is 20 minutes south of us. The Hampton Inn and the Comfort Inn. Contact info for them is on our website at www.rockmountainclays.com. Just mention you are shooting an event here. THX.
3 RV hook-ups and the prime tenting spot are already taken.
Since we're just about a month away, who's planning on attending? I should be there Thursday afternoon, and all day Friday and Saturday. Can't wait!
Sara |
Unless something comes up, I'll be there Sara. Looking forward to it.
Bring plenty of shells!!!!
Guys and gals, we are a month away. If you need RST shells, please call them and place your order. They will have your shells here for the event. THX.

Better practice up, Smitty is ready to take a bunch of them home. :)
He is my shooting buddy but he is focused on the big bore stuff (10,12) whereas I'm shooting (literally) for the smallbore stuff. Either way we will have fun and burn some powder, consume brown liquor and since you can't shoot the only guys we have to look out for are Dave/David D. Either way we win.:)
Daryl,
Count me in on your and Mike's squad. Jeff |
It will be a pleasure Jeff. Kinda hoping you'd make it this year.
Me too Daryl. I've sold almost all the guns I want to spin from the collection right now and will have more time to shoot than I did at Hidden Hollow. Yo, you might have to look out for a few more of us and some dark horses too; remember when we used to go head to head for the Ansley H Fox Championship when the VC was at Pintail Point? Those were the days ….. really not that long ago.
Some of the readers may not have picked up that Mountain Mike split the pump gun side event into small and large bore guns. Gotta get one of my 20 bore Model 12's out for some practice before then. :) frank |
That would be great Frank shooting with you. Those head-to-head's at Pintail Point were always fun no matter who won. I was'nt leaving you out of the competitors to beat, just ragging on Mike because the Daves are his buds. It's all fun.:)
Looks like I better tune up with that M12, 20ga. I bought from you. BTW, what vintage pump gun was made in 10ga.? |
No vintage 10 bore pumps that I know of. As I understand it the Mountain man has the 12 and 16 in one class and 20 and smaller in the other one. :corn:
The Ruskies made a four gauge pump. One comes up on the net occasionally.
I knew the Russians were involved somehow. Someone should tweet Mueller.
Time is running out to reserve a clays cart for the event. Please call to reserve by July 29. Carts must be paid for when reserved.
The 3 courses are ready for the Northern SxS!! The small gun course (Short Course) has 3 traps per station since we will be shooting the .410, 32, 28 and 24g events there. Another course for the small gauge pump, 16 & 20 and yet another for the big bore pump, 12 & 10. Black Powder will be shot on the Main Course too and is 30 targets. The 8 Bore is shot on a 15 Target 5-Stand. We also have a new 5-Stand and Flush set up for fun shooting. We will also be shooting some rifles at steel when the Clays action ceases for the day. The 80 target Main Event will also be very interesting. We use 4 of our stations on the old stretch of course once a year just for this event. Gonna be a good time!!
I will be loading the truck tomorrow.
Assuming we get enough interest, I'll be setting up dinner reservations on Friday evening at ~7 pm for friends who are staying at hotels in or near Tunkhannock. The place is a local favorite with a large excellent menu at decent pricing. This is not a black tie/dinner dress type of place. It's about 5 miles from town and we can meet up to follow me there. I'll need a head count to get the table(s) set up. See me if you'll be at the Rock by 2 pm on Friday afternoon. Or post here if you'll be arriving in Tunk early on Friday evening and want to join in.
frank PS/edit: if I don't get enough interest I'll cancel out and let Jeff know while at Rock Mtn. |
I liked the place last year. You can count me in.
