Just as Bruce did a few months ago with his "Show us your tips" campaign, I thought it would be neat to see the engraved Parker Dogs. Any photos you have and can share of your engraved dogs, please post them here and we can compile them for use in a future Parker Pages issue.
Here are two of my favorite dogs....from an AHE. |

Thanks for starting this post Josh. Always love to look at the different engraving styles used over the years. Here are the dogs from an early DH 28.

Dogs on 56563

These are the dogs on 56563 a one frame twelve DH, approximatly the 125th DH made with non rebounding hammers. Although it looks like a kid's shop project when compared with the higher grade guns shown, it is certainly a high point in DH engraving.

For comparison to the original PB DH dogs, these are from a 28-ga. Parker Reproduction DHE.

Here is one of my favorites ,when I was a boy we had a Frick OO Sawmill and we would cut lumber for the local farmers , Dr Ford owned a nice farm " Down the Valley ,just outside New Florence Pa. he was an old man when I was a boy ,but was the original owner of this DH grade 1904 gun ,I remember him well from hauling lumber and fire wood to his farm ,many years later his gun came up at a local auction and I had the opportunity to bid on the gun ,there were many there that day ,I guess I was just meant to own it ! Sorry ,I seem to just have the one side on my computer ,the other side is just as nice ,of course a standard D grade setter !

This is one of my favorite threads ever. Robin's guns and exemplary photography are really a pleasure to look at, as are many of the others. I love Parker repros for hunting but my gosh are they lacking in character when you look at the "gun art" shown here. More please!

Josh, here I am setting up a museum of Parker Shotguns and people like your "close friend" are holding out on donating these fine guns to my museum.... what's up with that?
Seriously though, that is an outstanding Parker! My compliments to your "close friend". Does he have any others? |
Dean,
There are others. I will try to get some additional photos. I would be willing to bet the ranch that you know this anonymous photo donor.... |

Jim, I have a picture of that gun's floorplate that I tried to post but for some reason I couldn't. I believe it is a dog's head with a snipe or woodcock in it's mouth. Very nicely done. Very nice Parker. Lucky "friend".
