What would you like to add to your Parker collection in 18??

What would you like to add to your Parker collection in 2018?? I know most times if your looking to fill a slot in your gun collection it never comes along. I'm still in the hunt for a nice green pine cone catalog and original #3 frame 12ga's in P,G and V grade. 2017 was a good year I sold a GHE 16ga, 12ga CHE Bernard and a 12ga D hammer gun, I bought a NH #6 frame 10ga and a project DH with a Monte Carlo stock. What about you??

CraigThompson 12-29-2017 06:58 PM

First a GH 16 Damascus 26" or 28" on an 0 frame ( a VH in the same configuration with fluid steel would be ok as well) . Secondly a VH or VHE 28 gauge preferably 26 or 28 inch barrels . And lastly an EH or NH 26" or 28" hopefully with rather open chokes . We do all the factory repair work in the USA for Fausti and I realize they're not Parkers but I've had it in my head for about five years I'd like one of the Fausti O/U double rifles in 444 Marlin .

Dean Romig 12-29-2017 07:01 PM

High condition small bore Parkers. Especially hammer guns. But I would rather not buy any more unfired Parkers - just very high original condition.

Dave Noreen 12-29-2017 07:05 PM

I'd like to add a late Remington era gun, preferably a Skeet Gun.

Kirk Potter 12-29-2017 07:08 PM

Something smaller than a 12 gauge.. A 16 gauge 0 frame, PH or GH choked for upland hunting.

Rick Losey 12-29-2017 07:32 PM

what I am looking forward to

that mythical "been in one family since new 10 gauge" for which, one of my favorite antique dealers, says he has said he has a deal going on- for the last month :banghead:

saw him yesterday - he told me the owner was in this week - still didn't bring it in :crying:

other than that -- a 16 gauge hammer gun, that hole may be filled -i'll know soon

Reggie Bishop 12-29-2017 07:47 PM

I am always looking for 28 gauge guns and also want s 32" 20.

scott kittredge 12-29-2017 07:50 PM

got it in 2017, my long 8 year wait, a 32 in 20 ga VHE choked FULL and IMP MOD will try it on the trap field new years day, worked good on crow
scott

Daryl Corona 12-29-2017 08:13 PM

I've got, at last count, 8 20ga. Parkers from 26"-32", damascus and steel, 4 16ga. from 26"-32", damascus and steel and 2 28ga. I'm not saying I would'nt jump on another if the right smallbore Parker came along but right now I'm focusing on smallbore (20ga) Foxes.

bob weeman 12-29-2017 08:23 PM

10 gauge lighter than 8 lbs....preferably straight grip with not much drop in the stock....choked IC and Full....

Linn Matthews 12-29-2017 08:26 PM

Check Steve Barnett's website for 28 gauge.

Bill Murphy 12-29-2017 10:55 PM

A-1 Special, enough said.

Ed Blake 12-29-2017 11:02 PM

It’s one thing to want it, it’s quite another to get out the checkbook.

Jay Oliver 12-30-2017 01:02 AM

I had a very good 2017 as far as adding to my Parker collection is concerned. I am going to "try" and focus on one or two special guns for 2018. These could include:

A 16 gauge, maybe a PH and/or grade 0 or 1 hammer gun
An 8 gauge hammer gun, lifter or top action
A grade 3 lifter in 12 or 10
And of course there is always that random Parker that I don't know I am looking for until I see it

Looking forward to seeing how I make out :)

Russ Jackson 12-30-2017 02:07 AM

Well ,it would be fun to find that Proverbial Needle in a Hay Stack but this is it , in 2017 I found a set of 12 Gauge ,Twist Steel Barrels with the Trojan Rib Extension , very good condition ,the thing is they are off of a Trojan Grade ,1 Frame gun ! I know this sounds impossible, but I would really like to add the rest of the gun to my collection in 2018 , Serial# 173981 ! If you happen to have it ,give me a call !

So is this ghost 10 a hammerless ?

Kenny Graft 12-30-2017 07:45 AM

I have been looking for years for the right DH or DHE-16 Gun must have its SSBP and modern dimensions of 14 1/4 1 3/8 2 1/2 I shoot 1 1/4 by 2 1/4 best but that would be a tall order! About 6lbs-4oz but well under 7lbs. I do not want a 12 weight gun with 16 holes! 28" barrels with some choke or 30" Mod/x-full for out west. Thanks all...SXS Ohio

Dean Romig 12-30-2017 09:01 AM

Kenny, you have that Repro with the 16 ga. barrels that should fill that bill.

Rich Anderson 12-30-2017 09:47 AM

I did some trading last year for a Lefever 16ga Optimus, a Purdey light game gun and an AE Fox 20 with 30 inch tubes.

2018 will bring a wonderful CHE 16 with 80% case color and 30 inch barrels on a #1 frame. I'm not really looking for anything and there is nothing I really want or need:shock:

Jay Gardner 12-30-2017 10:54 AM

Hummm... A 16g DH, preferentially a 0-frame, with Damascus barrels, straight stock and SSBP. What I am really looking for is more time to shoot the guns I have and chase my setters around northern Michigan.

charlie cleveland 12-30-2017 11:12 AM

my dream gun for 2018 would be a parker hammerless 8 gauge with 40 inch barrels my secound gun would be a 10 ga 3 1/2 inch chambers with 36 inch steel barrels.... charlie

George Davis 12-30-2017 11:13 AM

2 Parkers:
1. 16g GH/GHE, 1892-1895 manufacture date, 0-frame, with 30 inch Damascus barrels, would prefer a quality original but a project gun would be work.
2. 10 gauge GH/GHE, 1892-1895 manufacture date, 3-frame, with 30 or 32 inch Damascus barrels, would prefer a quality original but a project gun would be work.

Kenny Graft 12-30-2017 11:40 AM

Wants...

Dean...you are correct! I do have a trio of them but I would like a Parker Brothers gun that is about 98 years old or so. The setter that is engraved on them early guns is just perfect! I love my setters! See listing 100963517 on guns Intl. Take a look at the setter...WOW SXS Ohio

or PH or NH or? i'll let you know if and when it appears :corn:

King Brown 12-30-2017 12:22 PM

Nothing to add. I'm giving them away to family and friends. When I look at the rack, I say to myself "What was I thinking?" When it's over, I'll be down to a .22, a 7 X 57, a 20ga SKB and 12ga Beretta 686. I enjoy all the others but possessions are a burden.

Bill Holcombe 12-30-2017 01:29 PM

I would like to say a nice CH....BUT CURRENTLY GOING DOWN A COLT SAA rabbit hole, so might settle for a nice Trojan.

legh higgins 12-30-2017 01:45 PM

my Granddads Parker VH 00 28 guage he trained dogs with and hunted in Vermont :bigbye:with Corey Ford and Sid Hayward! someday I'll have it I hope...eh Lester?

Kurt Sauers 12-30-2017 02:59 PM

A 16 0 frame or a 12 1 frame. Fish tail. 6 to 6 1/2 lbs. Prefer Damascus. 26 or 28 barrels. Gh or vh with my stock measurements. And ball grip

I'm also considering going English

Bill Murphy 12-30-2017 03:51 PM

English? Tony and Steve are backed up with Purdeys. Maybe you are describing English grip stocks?

Rick Losey 12-30-2017 03:54 PM

or tweedy :rotf:

No I'm looking at Birmingham boxlocks.

But English stocks are fine for Parker's too

I'd like to add a fox 16 also

Just thought I'd let you know now, no one who's gone down that hole has ever been seen again. Apparently, there is no bottom to it.

Craig Larter 12-30-2017 06:46 PM

Thank goodness most are still looking to add a gun or two. After many of the recent negative posts about the market decline it's nice so many are still actively buying. Keep the thread alive all that have not posted.

George M. Purtill 12-30-2017 07:31 PM

Craig
Thanks for this thread. It’s like a group WTB post.
I think I would like a PR 12 gauge 2 barrel set straight grip and single trigger with interesting chokes to mate to my PR 30 inch barrels.
But I need a mower conditioner first.

Marty Kohler 12-30-2017 07:33 PM

2018

OK............ I throw these in

First gun,,,,,,I will pay Strong for a 16 G or D Damascus ssbp 28" 1 frame

Second gun, I will pay strong for a 28 V or G or D 00 frame 26" or 28"

I love Steve Barnett's 28 but who doesn't.....

Just looking for nice honest guns.......

This is sort of a guns wanted thread....but very interesting to see the guns people desire.....

Great thread Craig and also enjoyed your article in DGJ that just arrived

Kurt Sauers 12-30-2017 07:35 PM

It still seems people are still unwilling to really deal on 12's.

Chad Hefflinger 12-30-2017 07:42 PM

I picked up a 20 gauge VHE this year for grouse and woodcock. I also sold a repro 28 and a pretty nice GHE skeet. I would like to add a 0 frame 16 and a 32" barreled 12 this year.
