Fishing For Parkers

Dick Dow, Charlie Herzog and me for several days off the Pacific side of Vancouver Island. Limited on Chinooks every day, 20 to 30lb fish. Limited on halibut. We were part of a group of 15, mostly Canadians, all friends. We talked about Parkers when we weren't talking fishing.

Nice!

Very nice! We got all the Halibut we can use at Kodiak this year, but the water temperature was still a couple of degrees low in July and the Salmon weren't ganging up to head up the rivers.

Nice. They are fat ones too. I bet they had an impressive slab of belly fat when filleted..

Are the weighted Bunny Flies still the preferred fly to use on the Chinooks?

Nice, think what they would be like on a fly rod.

They are the fat ones... They will catch your grill on fire as if you were cooking bacon. Best tasting fish of them all if you don't burn them.

I had not been to British Columbia before. What an absolutely gorgeous province. People are fortunate to live there. Everything clean, orderly, beautiful, great wildlife and fisheries....some of the best in the world. Prices were a little higher than here, I understand people are taxed higher, but I was really taken with what I saw. The folks we were with do a lot of fishing and hunting. Some it seems, never buy domestic meats of any nature.

Richard, I am not a pilot but have heard others talk of the Anchorage Bowl Do you fly into that area, Is it some kind of wind shear they talk about just curious.

Gary, go to mapquest.com and type in Anchorage AK and zoom in and switch to satellite or aerial view to have a look at the float plane pond.
