28 and 20 in Virgina

Hello all, Just want to bring to everyone's attention about two Del Grego restored Parkers at a pawnshop in Virginia. The add is on Armslist, yeah I know, and have been for sale a long time. Started out at $10,000 each, then down to $8750 each, and now it is make offer. Looks like the 28 may have a beavertail forend and the 20 has a straight grip. May be some one could bring one or both home at a bargain. Any way, food for thought.
And now on to the elusive northern Wisconsin Whitetail. Deano

They're all wolf food up north

Those two Parkers have the most hideous recase I've ever seen !!!!

Dean Romig 11-17-2017 10:48 PM

The DelGrego's used the cyanide process for a long time. I've seen some really hideous ones, but some folks like the cyanide colors. Personally, I'm not a big fan.

The 28 gauge appears to have its original stock while the straight stock on the 20 gauge is a DelGrego replacement. And the beavertail on the 1908 28 gauge is most probably a DelGrego replacement.

Yipes - Stripes!!

G grade, I don't think so. Did they get the pictures messed up? What is with this site that two of us couldn't locate the items?

Russ Jackson 11-19-2017 09:25 PM

Volume II of TPS lists six 28 Ga. ,V Grades with 26" Barrels in the 148,XXX range ," I hate when a seller doiesn't list the serial # " but any way ,none of the six guns listed had Factory Beavertails ! Of course we all know there may be more than the ones listed ,just mentioning on what I found !

Either the pictures are mixed up or the 20 gauge is a VH with a GH floor plate on it.

Bob Brown 11-23-2017 03:05 PM

I think the GH post has a picture of the right side of the VH action that is also posted in the VH photos. Same photo, both items.

David Noble 11-24-2017 01:28 AM

The description of the 28ga says it's a VHE but the picture of the beavertail forearm says different.
