20 gauge guns with 30” damascus

Seems as though 30” 20 gauge barrels are not common in damascus. I flipped through the charts in The Parker Story and 9 are listed in all grades. Gr2 Damascus it says 1 and I have 2 myself. I know the grade charts by barrel and type are not perfect so maybe 20 sets are out there to be conservative.

I was lucky enough to purchase the 2nd yesterday 122622 Gr2 20 ga 30” D2. This gun has an identical twin out there 122621. Maybe it was due to weight and wall thickness they were not ordered much? There seemed to be quite a few steel barrel 20 gauge guns, close to 1000 VH alone.

Happy Sunday Parker friends.

The Quality 2 Damascus barrel hammerless 20-gauge numbers in The Parker Story are all a misprint. You need the Errata Sheet Version 3, 6/6/01. The corrected numbers are 1 24-inch, 145 26-inch, 3 27-inch, 244 28-inch, 49 30-inch, 1 31-inch and 3 32-inch.

I have an errata sheet and the errata noted in the back of volume II (same info) but it does not give the detail you describe. I assume from your note that there are additional errata sheets, if so can someone email them to me directly:

Thanks!

Or, better yet post them here?

Dave - I'm at a bit of a loss...

You show several errata sheets but I have only two such sheets that I know of.

How does one get the rest of the errata sheets?

Seems to me that most if not all of us would like to have or at least know of the errata sheets that might be available.

Robin Lewis 10-24-2017 08:11 AM

Dean, maybe Dan would provide them for you and allow them to be reprinted in Parker Pages and/or include them on our web page.

Dean Romig 10-24-2017 08:44 AM

I'll give Daniel a call and discuss the possibility.

The 9/27/01 pages were mailed to me by someone, or maybe came as part of the subscription for the books in the first place. If I remember correctly the beige sheet was handed out at one of our annual dinners. The web site http:www.parkerstory.com where apparently errata sheets once were seems to be gone.

Dean Romig 10-24-2017 02:06 PM

Do you know if they originated with DGJ or Charlie Price or Bill Mullins?

Thank you VERY much for bringing these to light and sharing them.

The Parker Story errata sheets

I have been evaluating the pages Dave posted and have come to the following conclusion: the first three pages dated Aug 2001 are the most relevant, because it is the latest update found that were made post publication, adding more information to the errata sheets found at the end of Vol #2. Next in importance, in this thread, is the single page titled "New Stuff".

The sheets dated June 2001 is superseded by the sheets dated Aug 2001 mentioned above and can be ignored.

The sheet just before the "New Stuff" sheet is an out dated errata sheet taken from Vol #1 when it was published. That sheet was revised when Vol #2 was published and its revision is re-printed in the last pages of Vol #2.

What is missing, in this thread, are the two sheets published in Vol#2. These sheets along with the two I identified above would make a full list of the The Parker Story errata; unless there was more created after these found in Dave's forum sheets posted here?

I know I never saw these errata sheets before and I suspect many others have not either. If anyone has a set of all these sheets, and can send them to me in PDF format, I'll try to incorporate them into our web pages for use by owners of "the" book. Let me know.

So, which errata sheets are truly up to date and valid today?

I thought I covered that? The ones in the back of volume 2, the "New Stuff" sheet and the sheets dated August 22, 2001. OR, ones I don't know anything about (yet?).

Sheets or no sheets only 49 30 inch 20ga Damascus guns produced. I have a GH so you can add that to your list.
