Here is a little DHE 20/24 that I have shown a number of times but people like pictures anyway. It's my favorite small bird gun. Original checkered butt, rare, and 24 inch barrels, also rare. As far as I can determine, it is unique.

Some people have troubles overswinging with short barrels but if you fully extend the leading hand, it slows swing. Conversely, on long barrels, pulling back the leading hand will speed swing.

Chokes are original, made to "shoot close at 25 and 30 yards." It measures to IC and light mod . Gun weight is just under 6 lbs, length of pull at 14.

My dream grouse gun! My 24" PHE16 is a deadly grouse and woodcock gun, even in my hands. I love it. Had a chance to get a 24" DHE28 a few years back but woulda had to sell my house to afford it! It's in Puglisis dungeon now I think.

Bruce, what a beautiful gun! Sometimes I carry a gun I don't shoot that well because I love it. I know a person can shoot a short gun well...ask Robert Churchill, eh? I have been overwhelmed lately with the heavy gun, tight choke guys. Nice to see this little jewel!

My hats off to you fellas that take the time and effort to post wonderful examples of Parker Bros. . I love the fact that never say never is part of the Parker lore.

Is the dark shading on the engraving, patina or is it an affect by them engraver? Either way it is striking.

Bruce Day 05-21-2017 08:53 AM

I think it's just patina from the case colors turned dark.

What a cool gun!

There are lots of nice Parkers out there available for a person who appreciates nice guns and hunting. Can't go wrong with a D grade 16 or 20 for upland game.
