ROCK ISLAND AUCTION

There are several 8 gauge Parkers coming up for sale at the Rock Island Auction the first of next month, I just received my catalogues today. One is an early underlifter.

Best Regards, George

Those look like the ones Puglisi has had for sale

Bill Zachow 04-20-2017 06:29 PM

George, when the auction results are in, would you mind posting the selling prices on the eight guages? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

If these were nice guns the prices seem lower than I would expect.

Brian Dudley 05-08-2017 07:17 PM

Prices seem fair. Especially the last two. But i did not look to see what condition they were in.

Just my 2 cents but I am guessing that having 6 Parker 8 gauges in the same auction may have impacted prices.

CraigThompson 05-09-2017 11:45 AM

If I'm not mistaken it seems to me a couple of them had snipped barrels like maybe 1-4 inches removed .

I would think that would make a difference as well .

Bill Holcombe 05-09-2017 12:47 PM

Yes if I am remembering correctly these guns weren't prestine.

Mills Morrison 05-09-2017 05:08 PM

Some of them had condition issues as previously noted and that is also a lot of 8 gauges to dump into one auction.

Bill Zachow 05-09-2017 06:48 PM

Thanks guys for the prices. Did those prices include the buyers premium, if there was one? As an aside, I have a 36" PH with no condition issues with lettered twin ivories and a silvers pad that I am planning to sell, but not at any of those prices.

Buyer's premium was either 17 or 15%, so add that in. I looked these guns over in person, but not with an eye to buy. Several had glaring blemishes, but a couple looked pretty darn good (but I have no idea of their originality). The real jewel of the big guns was an N grade 10 built on a #6 frame...and bought by one of our members. It was a beautiful, unique gun (see the other Rock Island thread).

some of those 8 gas were good buys in my book wish i had enough money i would have bought all of them...ha charlie
