speaking of auctions

I hope it was one of you fellow forum members who out did my sealed bid (was away today so took a shot) on this one

I feel your pain Rick.

In my opinion their estimated value was waaay low but I'm sure you didn't use that figure in determining your bid amount.

Tough loss.

no - I also bid on one Friday - I was around so it was phone bid - when i told the young lady who was handling it i would bid up to 6K she says - you know the estimate is only 1400 :rotf:

i told her I knew that - it went for 8k

my top sealed bid on this Parker would have been bumped twice to the 3K selling price

Dean Romig 02-19-2017 09:05 PM

Yep, I got that.

Jim DiSpagno 02-19-2017 09:30 PM

I bid 1525.00 at open and it flew to 3K in a heartbeat and ended very guickly

Dean Romig 02-19-2017 09:54 PM

If you want it you've got to go in heavy.

Gary Carmichael Sr 02-20-2017 09:42 AM

Edgar, That is a fine looking gun, what is the barrel length? Gary

There were some low estimates on other guns in that auction. Did anyone else see that project Super Fox? Top estimate $1,200 and hammer was $8,000. It included two other throwaway guns, but still

yes Mills - that as the one i was referring to that I bid on- had a Beretta SxS and 3" chambered Elsie -

Gary, That is a 26" Grade 2, lightened 0 frame. It's in superb condition. I also have the 'Gun From Hell', a 30" Grade 2. That's the one Chris restocked to high dimensions and Brad did the case hardening and barrels. That's also an 0 frame. I have another lightened 0 frame 16, but I can't remember much about it. Think it's an0 grade 26" twist.

No Edgar - what's wrong with your memory? It has 24" Twist barrels, a true ball grip, lightened 0-frame, and with no choke is murder on clays out to 45 yards or better.... oh, and it has a woodcock engraved on the trigger guard bow... but it's not really yours.... yet.

Nothing, that I recall.

I bought this gun!

I almost hate to post this after losing many absentee bids, but I bought this gun at the recent RIAC sale. The book has it listed with a capped pistol grip. The straight grip has the long tang and the correct serial number engraved on it along with some other no. 2 quality engraving. I suspect it's not original and will seek a letter on it. I bought another 16 no. 2 quality from RIAC two years ago. When I got my newest treasure home I was stunned to find they are consecutively numbered!!
