Went hunting in the Salt Marshes of Dulac, LA. Used 3" #3's 12 Gauge "Hevi- Shot Hevi-Metal" with "Little Skeeters" adapters. Thought all of you might enjoy a few pics.

Nice

That is quite the interesting pattern on the barrels.

Bernard Damascus......One of my favorites

Have you experienced any issues with shooting these steel shot loads through those barrels? How is the recoil from those shells, their advertised velocity is 1500 fps? I suspect those shells are at or near SAAMI max for pressure as well. Nice gun, nice take.

I have the twin to that gun barrels and all.

Rib Engraving says "Laminated", which it obviously is....I've always assumed it was "Bernard".

None at all...refer back to my post from last year which covers my impressions/findings when I first experimented with this shell...Felt recoil, I assume because I'm shooting 12 gauge in a 10 gauge barrel, is less than my 2-7/8" RST 10 Gauge #6 Lead loads.

Awesome!!! I've seen pics of SN#1288 on some sight in the past. Only 7 digits later than mine.

I went back and looked...I see that it is you that has #1288!!!
Have you ever hunted with her? This was my first hunt with mine (#1281).
I'm very pleased with her in the field.

Chances are our guns were manufactured at the same time.
Do you think our guns are Lindner Guns? I know the SN falls into the range of Lindner manufactured guns, but it doesn't have the crossed pistols markings normally associated with HAL. I was thinking that they were probably produced when Lindner's father, George, was still running things. Any thoughts?

For the sake of comparison...

Mine has the crossed pistols. Haven't taken the gun out of the safe in at least a year.

William Shirah 02-10-2017 11:41 AM

Dean,
I your opion, would you say the barrels on the pictured gun are Bernard I?

Dean Romig 02-10-2017 12:46 PM

In my opinion, yes they appear to be Bernard I as in the top barrel in the picture I posted.
