Charlie Price
It is with sad news that I report my very good friend for over 36 years, Charlie Price, passed away last night...12/22. We attended gun shows, hunted, and of course worked on the Parker Story together.
A library of Parker knowledge will surely be missed. |
Bill,I am sad to hear of Charlie's passing. He was a true gentleman and sportsman. Can we do anything for the family?

I am a better man for having known Charlie.
My thoughts are about him and the loss to his family and also to the "Parker Family". |
A fine gentleman whose passing diminishes us.

Mr. Price was the first PGCA member that I met at the Vegas show sixteen years ago. He welcomed me into the fraternity of the Parker Afflicted. A disease I enjoy. His knowledge and he himself will be missed. God speed Mr. Price.

May he Rest In Peace. He will be missed by the Parker fraternity. My deepest sympathies to the family.
|
I will miss him. Above all of his great knowledge was his generosity to share it with anyone who asked.
|
I thank him for what he did for the Parker community. RIP.

This is truly bad news. I miss Charlie at the Baltimore Show, PGCA meetings, Vegas, and, especially from the first PGCA meeting at Nashville. Charlie helped me out with The Parker Story volumes when I needed spares for my friends and myself.
|
Very sorry to hear.

I will miss him. He helped me out tremendously before the publication of anything on the origins and genesis of the Parker 28 gauge. Without him I couldn't have made sense out of much of any of it, let alone wrote about it. Thanks, Charlie!

Condolences to his family. A true Southern gentleman of the highest order. Charlie and I had many wonderful conversations. I miss him already..... Gods Speed Charlie...

Just saw the post about Charlies passing, I will miss him and the Parker community will too! He was a true gentleman, and of stellar character, men like Charlie do not come along very often. I wish his family best during this difficult time, RIP Gary

Charley was a true Southern Gentleman and I will miss him.He was a great help to me when I first got interested in Parkers and was always there when I needed an expert opinion on a gun. When I could not locate a suitable D grade 10 lifter he reached into his collection and offered me his. That gun was the first Parker Charlie ever purchased and I treasure it.

Charlie was a first class gentleman. I first met Charlie, Bill, Louis, and Roy on a hunting and gun showing adventure in New Hampshire in the early 90's. From the onset, you could tell from Charlie's demeanor, that he was a kind, honest, and thoughtful person. We struck up a friendship that lasted.
I will tell one quick story---Charlie was collecting American made 16 bores and he called me asking if I had a 16 L.C. Smith. I said ,yes. I sold him a Crown 16 trap configuration for what I paid for it. Some years later , Charlie sold that collection and he sent a letter to me explaining the entire transaction along with a check. An honest and caring gentleman. I had tears in my eyes upon hearing of his passing. Allan |
Bill
Mr. Charlie and you were always gracious enough to come by the table at the southern and sit and "chat for a spell". What a kind and gentle soul. I will truly miss him. Rest in Peace. |
A true gentleman who will be forever missed but whether you knew him for years or just briefly in a phone call like myself, you feel like you just lost a great friend. An example for us all, we will miss him but remember his kind words and the happiness in his voice. Peace and God's comfort to his family in these hard times. May God Bless them all. We will miss him always but always remember the wonderful gentleman and be forever greatful to have known him.

Being more of a lurker on this forum, I didn't really know who Charlie was or what he had contributed to the Parker world. Reading what has been written in this post gave me a glimpse of who he was but mostly I could see that he meant a lot to many people. Ironically, I was looking through some files on my computer and came across a copy of the Summer 2007 Parker Pages. To say that Charlie figured predominantly in that issue is an understatement and it gave me a much better understanding of what a outstanding individual he was. I can see why he will be missed and it makes me wish I had known him personally.
My condolences and prayers go out to his family. Kirk |

A touching service to a great man and an awesome friend of the Parker community. Brandon and Rev. Johnson both did a great eulogy for our friend and all knew what a Parker shotgun was.

Thanks Jimmy.

The Price family and especially his wife Elma, would like to thank all the Parker forum contributors who provided fond memories and well wishes on the passing of our father, Charlie. These thoughts have warmed our hearts and provided comfort in this time of sorrow. He was a wonderful man and our lives have been blessed beyond words with his strength, love and support.
