Bob Stack's .410 Parker?...

Curious to know if Bob's DHE .410 made it into the NRA Museum display with the other Stack Parker's that Peterson purchased?.... Does anyone have specs on the little gun, vent rib? - barrel length? - serial number 242? - Photos?

I remember KBM relaying detailed events about the guns' arrival at Kerr's early 1940's, and Gerry Knight's fondness for the .410 before Stack walked through the door and took it home with him. Always wondered if Rosemarie had a chance to shoot it, anyone seen it lately?

Thanks, Chris ~ CSL

I cant either and I cant see Frank Srebro's pictures either.

Photobucket.com is down for maintenance this morning.

Greg Baehman 11-04-2016 10:10 AM

If you have the pics stored on your computer you can post them directly here to the forum without the hassle of dealing with photobucket (or other photo hosting site) at all --- and they don't disappear from the post should you delete the pics from your computer.

Serial number 242,318, and, yes, they have it. I saw it last Sunday.

Christopher Lien 11-04-2016 08:53 PM

Bill, Check your PM's...

Thanks for posting the serial number, I finally found the little gun in the museum gallery yesterday...

A very late production number, anyone here have a late Rem Parker close in that 242318 range??? --- Would be very interesting to compare various configurations & specs on these late guns near the end of the Parker/Rem era...

Best, Chris ~CSL

Patrick Lien 11-08-2016 04:21 PM

I have 242321 and 242324

Bill Murphy 11-08-2016 06:59 PM

What configuration are these other guns that are close to the Stack .410?

Patrick Lien 11-09-2016 02:12 AM

Bill,
Same grade and options on all guns mentioned here. Gauge and choke varies.

I dug these out late today in between football and raking leaves. 242321 is a 20ga and 242324 is a 16ga. Like Mr. Green's 28ga gun(242320), both of these guns are 28" vent rib DHE's with single trigger, beavertail forends, and field chokes of full and full. The English case was refitted so that the pair can stay together.

Fantastic!

Who made that wonderful case for you?

Dean,

The English case was re fitted by Huey. It was originally setup for 2 guns with 4 sets of barrels and was probably made pre 1900. It is dimensionally just like a single gun trunk case but twice as tall. Outside measurements are
(33.25 long X 9" wide x 6.25" tall).
