Parker barrel length
I recently bought a vh Parker was wondering if barrels were cut I Have two VH Guns I think barrels cut on both. I have a nice DH also I mainly shoot a little skeet with the barrels were cut to 25 1/2 FROM 32 #3 FRAME has up graded wood beaver tail forend 3in cHAMBER a little heavy but nice gun . All these guns have CYL AND CYL chokes break skeet targets and kill birds just fine . Anyone can tell me what the first two started life as as far as barrel length ser # 104852 and the 95773 thanks Dave

Neither are in my ID. & Serialization book. Maybe a letter is available.
Does the matting on the ribs go all the way to the barrel end or does it stop about an 1/8" short? |
Both of them are missing from the serialization book.

Punctuation is your friend.

Yeah... a little hard to keep track of what is going on there.
Things to look for... rib matting termination. Style of sight bead and location of it. Space between muzzles and condition of muzzle surfaces. Chokes and length of them. Also, the balance of the gun. |
Matting goes to end the barrels both guns weight on the 26 is 3, .14. and on 28, 4, if that helps, I figured they were cut as to the chokes being CYL and CYL Great bird guns and I did not pay a lot for either one the 28in gun had been redone badly buffered hard as to the engraving I have owned 5 maybe vh They have all had that boarder engraving buffed to some degree. They still look good I just picked up the 26in barrel gun have started redoing wood and cleaning up removing the bluing from receiver I think all but one I bought that way receivers blued . Worse thing you can do as blue that receiver looks awful . Thanks Dave Sorry Punctuation never been my strong point

Are you sure the "3" is the frame number marking, or could it possibly be the grade marking. Where is the "3" stamped?
|
I the DH I have Is stamp#3 on barrel lug and chambered 3in and it is a heavy gun the barrels are much thicker than the two VH number 2 framed guns I have
|
Quote:
the weight stamped on my 32" 3 frame 12 barrels is 4 pound 11 ounces |
The barrels on this gun weight stamped is 5 pounds 6 ounces Titanic steel a beefy wide rib

but, i bet you don't stop your swing on the skeet range with that one  |
Even with barrels cut to 25 1/2 it heavy but I like it and I bet if only it could talk the stories why I like shooting and hunting with these old Parker guns they have feel and history in them and I shoot them well . Adds to the hunt the dog the gun is what keeps me doing it
