Beautiful bird Todd - that's one that needs to be mounted.

Yup, those twenty-four inch Parkers are bad medicine for grouse and woodcock for sure!

Oh my God, will you ever stop tormenting me?

Daniel G Rainey 10-23-2016 09:16 AM

A lamp base. Made in Minnesota , not China.

For my chalet lake house.

I like 24" for Grouse so much, I'm setting up to convert all my guns to 24"

Dean Romig 10-23-2016 05:23 PM

Super nice lamp base Bruce!

Todd followed Bruce's usual advice (and not always ably followed by me) to "shoot them in the head". That is going to be a beautiful mount. Congratulations Buddy.

Around the cabin table commiserating about the birds that got away. Left to right, PGCAers Todd Kaltenbach, Dan Coughlin, and Pete Kappes fixing dinner.

Dan is another of us 1 percent er bikers....he does several thousand miles yearly on a bicycle around Charlotte NC. A psychoanalyst, he had much to analyze.

Seems everyone is in good spirits after a day of sport. Do not know what for dinner, but Maker's always makes time more enjoyable. Good. luck

That is a fine lookin dog in Todd's picture, as well. I will get you your fine book back I'm embarrassed to say. Call if you get in the neighborhood.

I found my DHE 16 gauge 24" gun on this website, in the For Sale section. The same week, my friend, Angel advertised a wonderful 24" trunk case. What a great gun.

Harold Lee Pickens 11-06-2016 07:41 PM

My grouse gun is a VHE 20 with 26 1/2" barrels(0riginal 28"). My little drop in choke tool says cyl/cyl. Many grouse were also taken with my little J Manton 20 hammer gun with its 30" tubes.
Just got back from 2 weeks in the UP and found bird numbers to be phenomenal, best I have seen in 30+ years of hunting there. As soon as I can get pics downloaded, will post on the trip. I am exhausted!
