better late than never
or
more guns from the Rock part 2 I looked hard at this one at the Rock, hemmed and hawed all the out to the truck- and started kicking my self for walking away on the way home. So I called the seller - took a drive - and done I always liked side levers and underlevers- got both in one 12, 30" damascus, bores are spotless after having been cleaned up at some point in the past - but still great walls, so no worry http://parkerguns.org/forums/picture...pictureid=8410 http://parkerguns.org/forums/album.php?albumid=720 |

Did you see the link to the album? What would you like to see of it? |
Was that the gun that Vintage Doubles had for sale.

No. I must have missed that if there was another

This gun appears to be made on Rigby's snap action. The same as the E. P Wolstenholme gun I wrote of in the Autumn 2015 DGJ. Nicely done. BTW, the Wolstenholme gun will be available through Morphy's in November.

so until I hear from Greener, that range is just a guess |
Very, very nice Rick.
I know the answer but I'm going to ask anyway. Will she be a shooter? Same answer as: is the Pope Catholic? |

yes - it's a very solid gun, and although fairly nice for its age, not pristine - it's a shooter |
Just got an email from Graham Greener, I need to get him one more detail photo so that he can complete the research However, he did share this. Which I thought was interesting
"Several thousand of guns of this type were made and so they are fairly common, however, your gun has one feature I have not seen before in the design of the push down lever which is partially wrapped around the trigger guard. In this respect it is rare, if not unique since I have never seen one exactly the same as this before" I am sure he refers to not seeing a Greener like this He referred to the lever on the side of the action, like we usually see as the norm My guess of between 1869 and 1875 for a date of manufacture was dead on, he said that according to the serial number, the gun dates to 1873 It will be interesting to see if the final letter has anymore detail |
What email did you use for Mr Graham Greener? I have a Greener F35 and I would like to get info regarding it from him. Thank you.
