Mark Landskov 09-08-2016 06:10 AM

French Township.

Hal Sheets 09-08-2016 08:06 AM

Eastern PA and some other states, sometimes where the birds are, but mostly where they left the day before.

John Dallas 09-08-2016 08:19 AM

Just once, I'd like to hunt and fish "yesterday"

Hey, I often hunt there too!

Rich Anderson 09-08-2016 08:41 AM

Most of my hunting is done outdoors.

Why?? You've never stalked a house fly or a pesky mouse. It's all hunting:rotf:

Greg Baehman 09-08-2016 01:36 PM

I have to travel out-of-state to hunt as there are no gamebirds left in Wisconsin. Avian flu got 'em all.

Rich Anderson 09-08-2016 01:57 PM

I used to hunt in Wisconsin with my VHE 28 skeet that I called Avian Flu:rotf::rotf:

You can come to Michigan. I haven't cleaned them out here with Gunner's Gun.....yet:)

John Nagel 09-08-2016 04:10 PM

I hunt in the lower UP of Michigan, haven't seen a bird in darn near two years though so don't bother coming..

Rich Anderson 09-08-2016 05:00 PM

I have been there with Gunner's Gun, we cleaned up:)

Live in The Garden State now so only on Easter Sunday if I get up and out before the grand daughters. Those eggs filled with goodies dress out real easy and no plucking

Shawn Wayment 09-16-2016 10:08 AM

The West...

You need to try W. VA or Wisc, both very close to you... Michigan has been over hunted in the past few years, probably will take four or five years to recover. So hunt the other states that are close to you, Michigan is a bust !

nick balzano 09-18-2016 11:14 AM

Bindlestiff, great posting could not stop laughing, really holds true for fly fishing. Unfortunately here in eastern Pa., you hunt where the state leaves them at least for pheasants, but it's better than no birds or hunting at all.

Eric Grims 09-19-2016 07:18 AM

From the Connecticut river to Lake Champlain and up into Ontario a bit - but "you can't get there from here".

Tom Jay 09-20-2016 08:55 PM

Anywhere I get an invite...hint, hint

allan.mclane 09-21-2016 09:03 PM

My back yard still has plenty of birds, in spite of my best efforts.

On any given day,one of these two places,or others that look just like them

Dean Romig 09-22-2016 07:07 AM

Looks like Heaven to me.

Henry McRoberts 09-22-2016 09:16 AM

If you know the UP and get off the two tracks and beat the brush, there are still plenty of birds. Woodcock seem to be down in the last few years, but I think that is wide spread in the upper Midwest. Have checked on West Nile in grouse up here, but there have been no reports.

Dean Romig 09-22-2016 09:58 AM

Ditto on WN in VT as well. I spoke to a biologist for the VT F&G Dept.

allen newell 09-22-2016 11:53 AM

Markover, occasionally Addieville and northern Maine near Kokadjo (spelling may be incorrect)

Dean Romig 09-22-2016 12:02 PM

Spelling is correct and there have been tons of birds there in the past but the "new growth" has gotten too big to attract the numbers we used to see there 20 and 30 years ago. I'm sure there are still plenty of birds there though.

David Dwyer 09-28-2016 08:11 AM

anyone hunt around Johnson City Tn? My youngest son moved there last year and my older son is going to Asheville soon. I like the area.
David

Mike McKinney 09-28-2016 08:48 PM

David, I live in Maggie Valley, NC about 30 minutes west of Asheville, and 1 1/2 hours from Johnson City. I have grouse hunted in most western NC counties within 125 miles of here, I never have hunted in TN. Tell the boys to come see me and I will expect you too. It's good country, Asheville is considered the most diverse (liberal) city in the east (at least by some of us).

JeffTowner 10-02-2016 07:58 PM

Michigan and Minnesota for Grouse and Woodcock.
North and South Dakota for Pheasant.
Kansas and Arizona for Quail.
Oops. That's my Setter's schedule for this hunting season. I unfortunately have to pay for her fun so work will prevent me from joining her in Minnesota, South Dakota, Kansas and Arizona. Have had a couple of productive weekends in Michigan so far. Good resident numbers of both woodcock and grouse. Might have been lower peninsula. Might have been the Upper. I am not telling...
