A Fine Collectors Day in Western NY
8 Attachment(s)
We had our 3rd Annual Collectors Day at our duck club in western NY. This year we had a fantastic array of guns, 5 stand shooting and a delicious steak dinner.
We keep adding to the group as fellow collectors become known by way of the collector forums. Just a few pictures of some of the Parkers on view. |
I'm loving that display of the Remington and Parker Trap Guns along with the Trap Gun pages of the 1939 Remington - DuPont Trap & Skeet Equipment catalogue.
|
Nice bunch of guns Craig! Hopefully if the rain hold off tomorrow we will have a good afternoon here on the rolling plains at our church's steak and shoot!
|

In addition to those lovely Parker's that Craig posted pictures of, some other nice doubles managed to sneak in the back door: Dan Lefever's, Ithaca's, Fox's, a J. P. Sauer, I think I seen a nice L. C. Smith and some English doubles. And on the 5 stand, a Browning A5 was being shot by a well known PGCA member. He shot it quite well I should add. A couple nice O/U's were shot also.
And no Charlie, no 8 bores. The food and graciousness of the Vanderbilt Marsh Club was fantastic. Few more pictures. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...psjwudos5v.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...psaxny2wtr.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...psqjknzi34.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...ps5dloyobx.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...pslq4hvcvl.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...psyha4rqml.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...psjrnqnfw9.jpg |
My invitation must have been lost in the mail.....
Was this show advertised anywhere? Those are some fine guns on display there. . |
Sorry Dean you must be a card carrying western NY appleknocker to gain entrance. Seriously we are limited on the number of folks we can accommodate so we keep it local.
|
'bout the only clubs in my area are spandex-wearing, ball crunching bicycle riders dressed like Lance Armstrong at a Pharmaceutical convention.
|
I kind of figured that Craig - just bustin' 'em.
:bigbye: . |
That was a Remington model 11 B grade that I was shooting Bill.
But... Close enough. Thanks again for the invite Craig. A great time! |
What? Not a hammer gun to be found! Was there no hammer guns brought that day? come on down here and I can loan you one, seriously looks like a great time had by all, but like all the events that I have been to lately, every one is grey headed, we have to concentrate on bring young folks into the fold, Gary
|
There was 2 or 3 Parker hammer guns on display. One of them i provided. A grade 2 lifter 12g. Another was a C grade bernard top action.

oh there were a couple hammer guns- i forgot my camera, so no pictures to share- the drool factor was high |
Drool

The Model 31 is a B grade two barrel Skeet/Trap with fantastic wood, the 32 belonged to a Dr. W.J. Schoverling,he was a big wheel at The University of Texas School of Dentistry. The VHE is one of 18 Trap guns. The C single was listed as an unfinished gun in December 1942. I believe it was finished in the 50's it is mint with the hang tags.
I would like to thank Craig and the Vanderbilt Marsh Club for a wonderful day! |
