How rare?
How rare is it to find a 16ga PH with factory 22" barrels? I came across one today with a letter, the gun must have weighed 5 to 6 lbs.
All but unheard of. Is it a PGCA letter?

It would be interesting to measure for chokes |
Probably the only one made in that particular configuration.
. |
That's why I'm asking who wrote the letter.
Well in TPS the shortest 16 gauge gun is 23" for a grade 1 hammerless with twist barrels and 26" for a fluid steel PH .
sounds like you have a very rare configuration of a gun..22 inches a perfect bird gun for sure...charlie
The gun is sitting at the local hardware store, I believe its a PGCA letter, I dont know who else does letters for parker collectors.
it wont sit long in the hardware store if the price aint to high...i think i woulda done pulled the trigger...charlie

Unfortunately we're in Downeast Maine, high quality doubles around here are made in Turkey. They want 2000.00 little high for most incomes.
$2000 is not so bad if the gun is in any kind of condition. Give us the name of the store and stand back. PM me and I'll see what I can find out. No promises that I won't try to buy it. By the way, I have an order copy in my files for a VH 12 with 22" barrels, ordered at six pounds even.
Who ordered these things? Cops? Gangsters?
What kind of condition is it in?...original?...refinished?...damaged/rusted?
Who, according to the letter, ordered it? All of those play into the value of the gun. . |
Sorry for the delay, the gun is at Pineo's True Value in Machias, ME. The owner is Steve Pineo and he has possession of the gun, great guy to talk with if anyone was interested.
