204927 info

Can someone please help out with what the book says on 204927?

Eric Estes 06-05-2016 08:43 PM

Unfortunately that one is not in the book, but there are records available for a research letter.

Thanks Eric. It was (still is I presume) at a large retailer who said its been there a while which was not surprising based on the price tag.

A 12 ga DH with 26" titanic barrels.

I only handled it briefly but did snap a couple of quick pics.

could be the lighting - the receiver looks like it may have been polished

Looks like someone used silver polish on it and tried to avoid getting it on the wood.

I initially thought that what Dean is referring to was due to a sloppy stock refinish but I think you may be right about the silver polish.

Take a look at the stock oval. I'm not not sure what was on it but it could be scratched off with a finger nail.

The "sale" price on it was $7,209.66 marked down from $7,999.99.

Robbie, does the gun have a ventilated rib?

Have you purchased the gun?

I'm just curious as to what attributes the gun has that makes it special in the seller's eyes.

I would also be interested in why they are so proud of their gun. That is a very high price for a standard D 12 gauge.

A 26" 12 gauge is the least coveted Parker, and absolutely unacceptable if the barrels were cut. As mentioned by other posters, the price is way too high.

And what is left on the frame looks like dried gun oil.

That asking oroce seems very high given the little bit of the gun that i see.

Dean – No ventilated rib (see picture below) and no I have not and do not intend to purchase the gun.

I too was alarmed by the price tag and curious to see if there was anything, beyond the price tag, that stood out to you guys. They did admit that they had it overpriced and suggested I make an offer to which I responded that I was not prepared to do and also did not want to offend them. After talking little further they revealed that one of their buyers overpaid for it giving $5k and that they’d take less than that for it. Again, I was not interested and did not make an offer.

Brian- In regards to the dried gun oil on the receiver there appears to be the same effect on the trigger guard (see picture below) which made me think it was from a stock refinishing.
