A couple more, letter specs no animals rose & scroll only

Wow that's one attractive gun, with 32" barrels and single trigger to boot.

Dean Romig 04-30-2016 06:27 AM

Wonderful BHE Gary. It looks a lot like a certain AAHE 20/28 two-barrel set I know of.

Do you have a letter on that gun yet? I would be interested to know if the original buyer was one H.A.B.
He ordered the AAHE with no game scenes but only with 'rose & scroll' "like the B."

Gary, I missed you but I heard the story about this. Apparently the gentleman was extremely proud of this gun, if his initial pricing structure was anything like the "sailboat" hammer gun!!

George M. Purtill 04-30-2016 07:36 AM

Beautiful gun Gary. With BHEs like that, who needs AHEs.

Rick Losey 04-30-2016 08:13 AM

Very classy gun

Rich Anderson 04-30-2016 08:29 AM

I consider myself lucky to have held such a wonderful gun. That would be my Holy Grail of Parkers for sure. What a great clays gun that one would be and if one was a water fowler I'm sure it would be right at home in the blind.

It was nice to put Gunner's and Mattie's guns together. Two very special guns for very special friends.

Gary Carmichael Sr 04-30-2016 02:31 PM

Rich, I will call Mike to see if he will post the photos of our furry friends guns, Gary

Bill Murphy 04-30-2016 03:53 PM

Gary, will your letter show who H.A.B is? I can think of a couple of possibilities. I also know of at least one local B Grade in that serial range with no animals or birds, only scroll and roses on the floorplate. Is that a late Miller trigger on Gary's gun?

Dean Romig 04-30-2016 05:07 PM

Bill, my letters for the other two guns give his full name.

Dean, The letter says gun was ordered by H.C.Galeker Co. San Francisco Jan 1918, Arthur duBray was the salesman. The letters "ERC" were engraved in the shield, floral and scroll engraving price 185.00 plus 5.00 for pad, Gary

Dean Romig 05-01-2016 08:32 AM

Thanks Gary - That's about the nicest California duck club gun I've ever seen!

.

Bill Murphy 05-01-2016 09:22 AM

Thanks, Gary. I wonder if the initials refer to any known duck hunter of the time?

charlie cleveland 05-01-2016 09:22 AM

one nice gun...and those long 32 inch barrels just really get me going...the fellow that done the engraving on this gun was surely a master....charlie.....

Gary Carmichael Sr 05-01-2016 11:16 AM

I wish I knew what the initials stand for? , maybe research CA shooters? Gary

Bill Murphy 05-01-2016 01:26 PM

Gary, can you make the ERC into an EBC? Is is quite legible. I have an EBC for you.

Gary Carmichael Sr 05-02-2016 01:32 PM

Bill, I doubled checked the initials are "ERC", who was "EBC", The gun was made for someone or else the initials would not be on the stock, Gary
