matched pair
has anyone seen a matched 2barrel set with the same serial #with an A for one gun and a B for the other
|
Not to my knowledge. Got pictures?

I'm a little confused with your question . . . are you asking about a pair of guns each having two sets of barrels fitted to them? With the frames, forends and barrels all serial numbered identically. (2 frames and 4 sets of barrels). --Or-- are you asking about about a 2-bbl set? (one frame with 2 sets of barrels, with the barrels only marked A and B.
If you're asking about the former, it would be extremely unusual and the first time I've ever heard of it, nor do I recall that scenario ever being discussed here. Furthermore, pairs to most would have consecutive serial numbers and usually be marked with 1 and 2 -- not A and B. But, then again with all things Parker . . . we never say never. If you're asking about the latter, I suppose it's very possible the barrels only could be marked A and B, but that, too; would be unusual as they are customarily stamped 1 an 2. Parker Reproduction Driven Bird Pairs were discussed here: http://parkerguns.org/forums/showthread.php?t=6389 |
the matched pair are 2 separate guns with 2 barrels each markings are nsf 1 of 100 serial # 12-xxA and the other gun 12-xxB chokes grip trigger etc the same on both guns

If you were to PM Richard Skeuse the full and actual serial numbers of this National Sporting Fraternity set of guns he may be able to shed some light on them. Let us know the outcome, if you do.
How good of match are the stocks? Post pics if you can, we'd be interested in seeing this most unusual set. |
Are you referring to Parker repo's

Greg you know there repos, they were always repos and will always be repos. Call it what you want but a repo is a repo.:rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
All kidding aside there great guns for the money and the National Sporting fraternity put out some unusual combinations. |
By golly, this has got to be the matched pair the OP of this thread has brought to our attention:

I saw that set on Guns International yesterday.
The argument about repo vs repro is that "repo" is a commonly used term for "repossessed," while "repro" means "reproduction." |
