28 2BBL BT DT Just Sold
If there weren't so many great guns coming "out" these days, this one would be mine. Gunbroker 540770427. DT, two barrrel set, both 26", BT, PG. Sold for the low fives. A dream gun for someone who doesn't insist on a straight grip. High number, sold for $2795 on the closeout. I have never seen this special order combination before and wish I had bitten the bullet.

Can a moderator move this post to the Repro subforum. I assumed I was on the Repro subforum because I was reading Dave Tercek's Repro thread.

What do you all think about the 28 gauge on gunbroker #540770427 ?
|
Great gun!! Watched it the whole way. Couldn't believe it sold mid $5K.

Thank you Dean!

It was indeed a seldom seen combination of barrels and configuration, but IMO it was the configuration that held it back. Not many wanted that particular configuration initially and not many want it now.

I was guessing 6,250+
Somebody got a nice price on a fantastic shotgun - hope it was somebody here. --Greg..I like 26" bbls |

28 2BBL DT just sold
I thought I had it. Forgot about the 15 minute rule. Second place is the first
loser. |

CPI (using '95) & hammer price = about a 39% return if purchased at high closeout of 2795..not too shabby
..oops..should have read 25% :o ..still not too awful My guess..it's an even better investment today ..of course if it was my gun..honest wear would have to be taken into account :) |
I happen to know the gentleman (using that term loosely) that bought the gun. I told him it would sell for $6200 so he was happily surprised at the purchase price. He really doesn't deserve such a nice gun. He shoots Foxes!
|
25% over 20 years is pretty grim

Keep in mind..these were intended as shooters, not collectibles. Kept in new unfired condition makes it a commodity of sorts |
