We do have a block of rooms reserved for our members. We will once again be staying at the Hampton Inn on South Horner Blvd. in Sanford NC. The phone number for the Hampton is 919-775-2000. The rate will be the same as last year at $94.00/ night. When making your reservation just mention you want the PGCA rate. Larry |
Thanks Mills & Larry.....George
|
What are the dates, gary
|
4/21-4/24
I just booked a room and those rates are still available. King and double beds are still an option. |
Social/Meet and Greet
We are planning an informal social/meet and greet after the Smith Parker Shootoff on Saturday. Many of us attend that know each other online, but not in person. We will have name tags and possibly some light refreshments. I hope all PGCA members who attend will take a moment to come over and participate. It will be great to put some names with faces.
|
Mills- that is a great idea. I am always amazed at how many PGCA members I don't know. Let us know if we need to make a contribution for the light refreshments.
|
Mills,
where would this be taking place? At Deep River or at the Hotel? Sorry maybe I am misreading this. |
It will be at Deep River in the Parker Smith tent. I should have mentioned that.

Yes, isn't that strange George, there being only 1370 members in the PGCA... . |
It's just like a big Italian family. Once the kids marry you have nieces, nephews, umteen cousins. You need a score card to know who everyone is.

We are now planning a halftime show between the qualifying rounds and the shootoff. . . . An 8 bore event. Details being ironed out as we speak, but we need some Parker 8 gauge owners to come.
|
8 bore
We need Charlie Cleveland to come for sure.
|
The latest update . . . . Check out the list of vendors

Mills, I received that same list and was surprised that I don't see Steve Barnett on it!
|
It is a preliminary list and so he could just not be signed up yet.

Got my room. Bringing the spousal unit as its her b'day trip. Anybody else bringing their Sig O?
|
Similarly, I bought my wife a set of snow tires for Christmas many years ago... :knowbetter:

My wife always vomes along with me for the trip. But not to the shoot. She usually always finds stuff to do around Sanford during the days. |
Rules for the Smith-Parker Challenge and Hammer Gun Challenge are posted in the Southern sticky in Shows, Events. Rules for the 8 gauge event are posted in the 8 gauge thread.
http://parkerguns.org/forums/showthr...634#post188634 http://parkerguns.org/forums/showthr...631#post188631 There are no substantive changes in the rules, other than there being one qualifying round of 50 birds, instead of two qualifying rounds of 30 each. The second field will be available for 25 bird practice. |
Gentlemen,
All the posts about Volvos were moved to their own thread in Off Topics. Please limit posts in this thread to the Southern SxS Mills will appreciate it. I will appreciate it. You will appreciate it! Have nice day! Mark |
Apologies to all.

I just checked w/ Hampton Inn & they seem to have lost my reservation for the Spring Southern. If anyone here have a room booked that they don't need please let me know.
Best Regards, George Lander palmettotreasure@aol.com Phone (803) 240-3271 |
George you might consider the Quality Inn in Faqury-Varina (?spelling). The room rate was $59/night. It's very close to Drakes Landing so you could shoot a round in the am then head to deep River which is about 30min away.

Alrighty, the spousal unit and I just received word that pretty daughter is going to get an award from the College of Science and Mathematics at Auburn university for her 4.0. This is going to happen the same weekend as the spring Southern. As you all can agree, family comes first so I won't be able to attend. This has two repercussions, first being that I won't be bringing the last and first dolls head hammer guns. Maybe next year, second will be the fact that a room is opening up in the Hampton Inn. George L. needed a room, the thing is I'm a Diamond Member of Hilton Honors and we used points to secure the room. George if you still need the room, lets see if we can make this transpire. Respond to this post and let me know where I can call you.
P.S. I'm still looking for suitable beau's for my pretty daughter. |
Michael: Yes, I still need the room Please give me a call at (803) 240-3271 and we'll work out the details. If you want to use your points I can mail you a check for the cost. Otherwise I can contact the Hampton Inn & have them put it on my card.
Best Regards, George Lander BTW: I have three unmarried grandsons ages 21, 23 & 24. |
Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Moffa. I have just confirmed my reservation with the Hampton Inn. Please let me know if I can be of service to you anytime in the future and congratulations on your daughter's achievement.
Best Regards, George Lander |
No problem George. I had a new hammer gun to use at the shoot though. Looks like it's gonna be next year.
|
We're coming down the home stretch now. I hope to see a lot of you guys and gals there. Team Parker needs to take home some trophies this year!:draw:
