GH 120213, not a bad old gun
7 Attachment(s)
120213 found a new home. Nothing exciting but it is a nice old gun with quite a bit of case left, screws are clean and no cracks in the wood. I didn't need or want another GH but it just called my name when I saw it for sale.

Now that , in my opinion, is a beautiful gun. Nice find Brian.

Congratulations on a beautiful gun. What are the stock dimensions? It does not seem that has excessive drop.

Its got a bit 1 7/8", 2 7/8", 14 1/4"............gonna have to shoot it with the ole cheek soft on the stock.

Very nice gun Brian. Thanks for sharing photos.

That is a mighty fine old G Grade!
|
Very nice!
|
Nice find Brian, how long are the barrels?
|
I really like the GH Grade
|
That wood looks more like Grade 3 Circassian Walnut than the usual American Black Walnut used on the Grade 2 guns. A really nice feature on that gun which separates it from the run-of-the-mill Grade 2 guns.

It is not too uncommon to find Circassian walnut on earlier GH grade guns from the 1880s and 1890s. But for this one to have it and being made well after 1900 is a bit different.

Chris the barrels are 30", the gun has a bit of weight to it in hand. I have not put it on a scale Yet.
Dean/Brian the blank is a bit one sided, the picture is of the better side for sure. |
