Maine SxS championship Sat 5/1

I believe this is a Vintagers event. Is anyone else going?

I've tried to shoot at Varney's a few times but they're never open on weekends. I called them last year and was told they only did shoots by appointment.... very frustrating :vconfused:

... And now they are having a major SXS shoot?? Where were the advertisements?? Who else knew about this??

If you go, use your insect repellant - the Maine black-fly season has commenced and is in full force in central Maine.

Remember... "Black Flies - Defenders of the Wilderness"

Pete Lester 04-29-2010 11:03 AM

I don't think it was well advertised Dean. I found out about it last Sunday when a guy from Maine handed me a flyer while I was skeet shooting at Major Waldron's. Looking at past year results for this shoot they have had only 30 or fewer shooters participating and this is the 6th annual?

I used to shoot ATA trap at Richmond F&G which is near Varney's so I am familiar with the trip and area. I thought it would be fun and yes I put a bottle of Ben's bug juice in my shooting bag.

Dave Suponski 04-29-2010 11:41 AM

Pete,You gonna be around Major Waldrons on Sunday?

Pete Lester 04-29-2010 11:43 AM

I hope to be there, I heard you had a border pass and might be coming up.

Dean Romig 04-29-2010 11:50 AM

Suponski might have a New Hampcha border pass but he'll have to go around Massachusetts... :corn:

Harry Collins 04-29-2010 12:21 PM

My Parole Officer frowns on me traveling accross the border with firearms. How do you fellows get away with it?

Harry

Dave Suponski 04-29-2010 12:30 PM

Harry,I puts'em in the car and go!

As for you Mr.Romig.....Not likely

Pete Lester 04-29-2010 01:14 PM

Dave, are you picking up that DHE 20 that Dunkle borrowed from you on New Years Day? If so that is a fast return for him :rotf:

Dave Suponski 04-29-2010 04:11 PM

I doubt it Pete,He doesn't answer my phone calls...

Robert Rambler 04-29-2010 05:10 PM

John Dunkle 05-02-2010 07:09 PM

You are not alone in that, buddy.... I keep hearing the same - and so far - I've been left empty-handed as well...?

Hey, I had a great time today - thanks!!!

John

Robin Lewis 05-02-2010 07:30 PM

I want to echo John's comment, I had a great time today, thanks!

Rich Anderson 05-02-2010 08:57 PM

Scott if you come to Hausmans in June I'll try to slip you a couple:) I'd give you one also John but I know you are to scared to appear...but if you do grace us with your smiling face please bring the 410:)

Now regarding the Old Pollock....IF he did shoot the 410 there would be no tomorrow....at least for him as his depression over the long run of goose eggs on the score sheet would push him over the edge. If anyone needs a 12 it's Dave:rotf:

scott kittredge 05-02-2010 09:01 PM

all right cookies in june, i can wait a few weeks, see you there!
