100 years does terrible things to a gun.

Dean Romig 10-23-2015 04:34 PM

Super nice gun Craig! Yours?

It appears to have the "trap comb" am I correct?

Steve Barnett recently had (or has) a B engraved by the same hand.

Dean it is my gun. It does not have a trap comb just the shadow in the picture. It is a #3 frame 12ga with .740 bores and .040 chokes. Patterned for #1 shot. Factory 2 7/8" chambers

Rick Losey 10-23-2015 05:10 PM

very nice

Dean Romig 10-23-2015 06:28 PM

Wow.

Brian Dudley 10-23-2015 10:34 PM

One couldn't ask for a better 100 year old gun.

Bill Jolliff 10-23-2015 11:03 PM

Gorgeous gun Craig. Not likely to find one nicer.

Going to be a nice day tomorrow for the duck opener. You'll probably wait a couple weeks to see how she works on those web footed foul.

Yes, really nice.

Craig Larter 10-25-2015 06:16 PM

Bill: Thanks very much a positive comments, coming from a old time collector, really is appreciated. I may take the gun out on a nice day duck hunting but I think I will be very happy just shooting clays a few times a year with all you guys.

Absolutely beautiful Craig. As I've said before, there are "C's" and then there are "C's"!!!. That's a C!!!!

Thanks for sharing it with us.

John

Gorgous C grade

That's a hell of a gun for a Fox guy....:rotf:

Dean Romig 10-26-2015 10:20 AM

I don't know if he can be considered a "Fox guy" anymore... but I think we can call him a "Cross-gunner"

Dean: I like them all. Parkers interest me because of the long history from early hammer guns to steel barrels and hammerless actions. I only collect Parkers not available from AH Fox. I have some nice damascus barreled guns and one massive hammer Parker gun. As you know my love is vintage SXS made for waterfowl hunting.
Parker collecting is very addictive. I appreciate all the friendship and encouragement from the Parker collectors.

Dean Romig 10-28-2015 05:06 PM

Craig - Just so you know... We all consider you a special friend and a respected collector of vintage SXS guns, no matter the manufacturer !

what is the massive hammergun if we may ask...charlie

Daryl Corona 10-28-2015 05:31 PM

Craig and I just returned from bird hunting trip in SD. If I remember correctly he toted "Old Reliable" across the prairies. His big Fox waterfowl guns would have tired his arms out.

Dean Romig 10-28-2015 06:04 PM

Charlie - Look in your Autumn 2015 Issue of Parker Pages beginning on page 23, "One BIG Parker Quality D 10 Gauge Top Lever Hammer Gun" for the story with pictures of this fantastic gun. We all had an opportunity to buy this gun from the previous owner who posted about it on the forum a while back.

Dean, the not so politically correct (soon to be a "CLASSIC") 2016 buzz word for Craig's malady will henceforth be: SWITCH-HITTER :corn:....with much, much more exciting news to follow on that front!! Stay tuned......

Dean Romig 10-29-2015 06:09 AM

Well Tool, you've certainly got my attention... I'm staying tuned for sure.
