Just for grins, anyone know what year this gun was made and how much it cost at that time?

Chuck Bishop 09-14-2015 08:17 PM

I would have bought it if there were more pictures:cool::rolleyes:

This gun was probably built in 1988 and had a list price of $2970.00. During the closeout in 1995 SST 20 and 28-ga. Repros were selling for $2095.00--I assume the 12s were similarly priced during the closeout. Incidently, an as new 28-ga. Repro 2-bbl. set in the most desirable configuration and chokes, also sold today on GB for $6280.55.

Thanks for the info Greg.

I purchased the 28 gauge set today -
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=505618655

Had been looking for a while to find 28 gauge, double triggers, English, Q1/Q2, with attractive wood in good condition. May have paid a bit too much, but there don't seem to be that many that come up for sale...

Rex,
No way did you overpay for that 28!!!!!!!
I consider what you paid an outstanding bargain for a 2 barrel new 28 GA Repro with Q1/Q2, long LOP, outstanding wood, etc.. Have not seen another since I bought the one I found.

You did very well on that gun. Just not many in that configuration out there.

I was watching that one too Rex - that is one fabulous Repro - Congratulations!

I guess 109 pictures was enough :rotf:.

Rex, check your action bottom screws. The rear one isn't aligned. Either it's not tight, or the screws were removed and mixed up at some point. Looks like you got a very nice 28 ga. Nice long LOP, and looks new!

Fred Lowe 09-15-2015 09:51 PM

I agree with the above comments Rex. You did fine on that buy.
It was all I could do to not bid on the gun! I'm glad I didn't bid against you.
I purchased a 28 gauge Ithaca Flues from the same seller earlier this year. I was very pleased with how they handled the transaction.

You'll be selling the 28 Repro that you bought from me now?

Congratulations, I shoot the same gun and love it.
Nice to see you back on the forum.

No plans to sell yours! But since I couldn't talk you out of your English grip 28 gauge, just decided to buy another - we'll see if I shoot as well with the new one. Longer LOP wasn't a plus for me...

Richard Flanders 09-16-2015 01:01 PM

That is a nice one. Looks unfired and gorgeous wood. My 2-bbl set is the same configuration with with a shorter LOP.

Kenny Graft 09-20-2015 08:09 AM

Good buy Rex....You will never regret it! DT repro guns in 28Ga. are the best value period! I have the same set up as your gun except for beaver tail for-end. I paid a few hundred more for it but its a KEEPER! SXS ohio....(-:
