Kautsky trigger

I know this is the Parker site but, I Have a 16 gauge Sterlingworth that has been restocked and the Kautsky trigger will not fire the right barrel. I have taken it out of the stock and reassembled the metalwork and it still does not fire. All of the adjusting and re-adjusting has not worked...does anyone know a good Kautsky mechanic? Before you go any further, you should contact the folks at the AHFCA for the best advice.

Mike Koneski 06-23-2015 09:54 AM

Jim, I sent you a PM on the Fox site.

jim garrett 06-23-2015 11:24 AM

Dean, I posted the same request on the Fox website several days ago and got no response. I posted the same message yesterday on the Parker website and I have already gotten 2 responses. Thanks to you and Mike. Jim

Here's a well-known and highly respected shop I would definitely consult with if it were mine.

I may be mistaken, but I think that the Fox triggers are the only ones that Classic Gunstocks/Miller do not work on.

Dean Romig 06-23-2015 03:54 PM

Thanks Brian - I didn't know that.

Hi All,

Noticed we were mentioned here (thanks for the kind words, Mr. Romig)!

Miller triggers are our first focus but we can and do work on others. We happen to be repairing a Fox Kautzky right at this very moment (that apparently
has very similar symptoms to the one that prompted this thread).

We just ask for communication prior to shipping us a problem trigger, if we don't think we can fix it we'll let you know.

Best regards,

Dan

Dan,
Thanks for clarifying. Good to know. Can you confirm, for my own reference what singles you do not work on?

Dan May 06-23-2015 06:43 PM

Hi Brian!

I don't like to say "never" because each job is unique. I just encourage people to call or email and let us know what they've got and what's going wrong with it.

In most cases I leave English and other European single triggers alone. In any situation, the kiss of death is when an untrained but otherwise well meaning person has a go at fixing them. I've seen some real doozies. I'm totally biased obviously, but many factory single triggers just don't work all that well due to their designs and trying to fix them is a no win proposition.

Swapping out for a Miller is always a sure fix though! :D

Best, Dan

I can handle the repair on most any single triggers or ejectors. www.LCSmithGuns.com

Kautsky trigger

Jerry, I got you message. I have been out of town on grandparent babysitting duties...and... I will be leaving town soon again...this time shooting duties. I'll be in touch when I get back on a more permanent basis. Jim Garrett
